Has someone got their 'dirty' mind on?, you could say the same for DRTI
To quote Spock, "It's only logical", just rounding off the DRT line (still waiting on J,K,L and P)

Looks VYGL may have had something amiss this morning - according to FR24 operated MAN-NCL followed by NCL-MAN-NCL. Flight to EWR is delayed by 3 hours.

Another Captains Only airfield?
Q - if Jet2 haven't flown there before, how do they train their Captains to land there?
Just asking.

Use a suitably-programmed flight simulator. Jet2 now has five.

It's not captains only in Jet2's route manual, just cat B (requires self briefing) due to lack of radar, so shouldn't be any issue.

However, to answer the question, all AOC holders I have worked for have had some form of alleviation approved by the authority in the case of a first visit to an airfield requiring training for the crew, generally along the lines of restricted to training captains only and sometimes with more restrictive landing minima to be applied. Obviously if it's cat C and needs simulator training it can get a bit more complicated.

Yet they have dropped NCL to Corfu to one per week next summer season, they've provided 2 a week for the last few years. Hugely popular destination and a strange decision, especailly when the collapse of TCX has meant this route has already lost 3 a week.

NCL - Corfu.....are you sure about that. A quick look at the timetable shows it has been re-instated to 2 x weekly with flights on Mon and Thurs.

That must have literally happened in the last few hours - I was just discussing this on another forum last night. Good spot, thanks!

Prices are a bit steep - they're all cashing in on the TXC loss. One week is £600 return on this route when I looked with TUI, flight only.

TUI’s flight only prices are notoriously expensive – they don’t really try to compete on these as they want to encourage package bookings.

Lisbon - New Route

LIS has been added to the booking engine from MAN and BHX.

MAN-LIS - 2x weekly Thu & Sun from beginning of April to end of October
BHX-LIS - 2x weekly Mon & Fri from beginning of April to end of June. It then stops for peak summer before restarting mid-Sep until the end of October

I expected others to increase their prices after the demise of Thomas Cook. It could be argued that some routes have been artificially cheap for some time due to supply exceeding demand.

The rumour goes that it didn't have enough ULD's (Unit Load Devices) so it had to pop back to Manchester to get them. Don't tell Greta.

How ridiculous - can they not just bulk load any bags over the ULD quota they already had?

I’m assuming they couldn’t or they would have given the EU261 claims they’ll now be getting for arriving late is going to cost them a small fortune.

A travel agent in Dorset told me Jet2 are planning a programme from Exeter. Could be gossip, and I think too late for Summer 2020.
