It came about as a question was asked regarding J2 plans post Brexit in 2019 if we have a hard no deal Brexit and why the company had made no announcement about their plans yet, this was perceived as a problem that would potentially prevent customers looking to book.

This could be potentially be a bit of a challenge, an example being having a G reg stby aircraft in Alicante operated by UK crews.

J2 also employ a lot of British people in the EU, allong with plenty of locals, and again this might be an interesting challenging with a no deal scenario so the upcoming Brexit is pertinent to the short term future of the Company and it's immediate development.

One thing in their favour is that they effectively will be operating UK/EU only rather than within the EU post Brexit so as flight between the EU and the UK are not going to ever come to a halt they have potentially less problems than say EasyJet who have had to set up another company in the EU to enable them to continue inter EU flights such as Berlin Paris in the future.

One thing I predict is very slow passport control for Brits arriving in the EU as part of the 'punsishment for leaving tactics' a favour that I am sure we could easily return at UK airports for EU nationals if we choose to be so childish!

Sit at the hold at Palma on Saturday morning and every third aircraft is UK bound, Spain, despite what my friend above says, can not survive without Bitish Tourists without feeling major pain unless Brussels wants to give them some massive back handers. Do Brussels have that spare cash, I'm not ao sure?

I wonder if any one will wish to insults me this morning for having an opinion that might be differerenr to their own, it is Christmas Eve after all?

B@[email protected] are reading the Sun too much and your politicians are not informing you not enough.... The only reason that there will be delays is that your country has choosen to have the same status as any country without an agreement with the EU, your dear politicians have f@cked up the whole process of making agreements on leaving as they believed that the rules in Article 50 for exit as written up by YOUR Lord Kerr is not applicable to your country And when you have no agreement it means there is no way that the EU can check in your systems whether you are allowed in and if you are allowed in under what regime (tourist, business or student visa?)

So please go and knock your own politicians for lying to you before BREXIT (which is a well defined process they have been aware of for years BEFORE Brexit as they co authored it) and for messing EVERYthing up since

Well Mark, this one's certainly been round the block a few times and has gained a new exterior skin right from aft of wng root to nose due to ''excessive corrosion'. If it was MY money, I'd want to have a jolly good look at the rest of the airframe before parting with it.

UK passport holders and UK airlines are subjected to differing ( effectively third country status) immigration parking and handling right across the EU as we have never signed Schengen so aboslutely no immediate changes are expected on entering the first point of call into any Schengen signatories via air least not till 2022 anyway,.

There is plenty of time to agree Visa FREE travel betwen the EU and UK to be effective from 2022 onwards imho.

And yes it might require movement back towards Free Movements rules again like it or not .

Every time I fly ( and it’s numerous times a year) into Lisbon it’s always remote parking buses and joining the queue with Brasilians Ukrainians and Angolans . Amsterdam it’s a separate corridor for UK And Eire.

The place that will have to be beefed up is Dover/Calais and there WILL be disruption like it or not.

As for CTA with Eire it’s got nothing to do with Brussels at this time , although I personally think the current Taoiseach may well now look to joining Schengen to benefit Eire if the UK goes Hard Brexit with much of their import/exports directed to Containers and ro-ro ferries to France and Spain being built up over the coming years.

They will need to do this to avoid TIR land bridge paper work and seals on moving goods across a third country.

Pretty much like you do to Greece moving goods over land .

Please spare us. Whilst our political background is far from perfect I don't think the EU can take the moral high ground on this one.;

The sooner we are out of this "silly club" the better and whilst we shall have to overcome short term difficulties we will be all the stronger for it.
We stood alone before and my parents generation paid the price.
Had there been a fairer voting system in the EU we may have been able to change from within. However with just 4 of us putting into the pot the burden became too great.

Brexit Plans

I was at a logistics meeting with u.k. border forces, prior to christmas and many questions from the floor asked why the government was pretending their may be border issues with movement on our parts etc when we all have received our licences until Jan 2020. Border staff view was that as it was not yet official policy of a no deal, to protect MAY'S withdrawal agreement the public face had to be that a no deal would be troublesome, if not, why would MP's vote for the deal.
We now have air shipment deals in place from april between maastricht and birmingham for isotopes and other vital drugs, my company has been planning for a no deal for 2 years, were being asked to use other ports and airports, which is the same as present as every HGV is routed on to an available ferry today, after we had 23 days closure of Dover in 2015, its not as if we have not had these type of issues in the past, never mind the beast from the east

Getting back on topic...

Interesting article highlighting Jet2s growth, particularly its holiday arm, which now makes up 49% of all passengers. As we are in the peak booking period of airlines/ tour operators, nice to see the norths favourite airline going strong

The third A330 this summer wouldn't happen to be an A330-300 would it?

It's cropping up on flights I'm looking at to ACE next summer and shows 388 seats vice the Air Tankers 327 (51 rows vs 45) whilst maintaining 8 abreast.

Yes...it will be a Hi-Fly A330-300. I suspect it will be aircraft 9H-AGU, from the Hi Fly Malta fleet, as this is currently the only A330-300 they have.
