They are reserved for the other 8 2nd hand B737-800 that have been acquired, due before summer 19. The aircraft allocated 'N' just happened to arrive first.

I'm assuming, of course, that Jet2 bought it, not leased it.

What's Jet2 scheduling like over winter? Being taken on a 'surprise' winter break to Canaries in January with J2. Flights from NCL but the Mrs(?) isn't letting on times/place we're going to.
I hope she's bought the ring.....

Just use the Jet2 website with NCL as the UK airport and Spain as the country and do a dummy booking and the available Canaries flights will show.
Looks like three airports depending on day of departure-FUE,LPA and ACE
I was going to stay stum but it is so Simples
Have a great trip

Jet2 - so why LS flight numbers?
I know I'm going to regret this, but my very little grey cells have been trying to think why Jet2, Callsign Channex and ICAO code EXS have 'punters' flight numbers that start LS.
Ta, ever so.

M.O.T.
FWIW, E, H, V, and X are all shown on Jethro's as 'fr disposal Winter 18/19'
Nothing mentioned for Y, which is similar age - 2004ish.

Using a car analogy, wouldnt it depend on when their M.O.Ts were due and what was needed to keep them safe and efficient until their next major check?

GCELX is due to perform its last flight on the 4th Nov and will start the retirement process on the 5th.
GCELV will retire shortly after this on the 7th/8th November
GCELO will retire around the 22nd November.
EDI is confirmed all B738 base by mid December and NCL will be also all B738 by end of April. This will only leave EMA, BFS and LBA with the 300’s for summer 2019.
As always in aviation nothing is 100% confirmed until it actually happens however this is the plan at the minute.

That just leaves E and Y from the GCEL 300 series. They've served Jet2 well.
