There will also have been at least one ATR crew down in Toulouse picking G-ORAI up, possibly with a few days training whilst they were down there based on what happened when they collected G-OGFC

And don't forget that when Aurigny made the original license application for the LCY route, both the Dornier and the ATR-42 were included on the application. I still think they messed up that route and that is why it failed : short lead-in marketing period, long-leasing of G-HUET, ( when the continuation of the CityJet F-50 - with crew trained in LCY flights might have been more cost effective ), too much frequency, no onward interline connections, use of the larger ATR 72s etc etc

But a Trislander has an even quicker turn-around. Which is maybe why Air Alderney are now looking at piston engined Islanders.

Anyway.... Mr Darby must be opening up the bottles of champage right now. If Flybe cease trading, BI will surely stop, leaving Aurigny basically alone on all the Guernsey routes, ( except for seasonal Loganair routes ), and overnight become Jersey's third airline in terms of pax numbers.

Why would Blue Islands stop, they operated years before the franchise agreement came in with Flybe. They’d have reopened their open booking portal, obviously not the same exposure but they muddled through before !!

Have they reopened their booking engine ? From their website one is still directed to Flybe. All customer data for future BI flights is on the Flybe server. Will they have access if Flybe suspends operations ? What about receipts taken through the Flybe website ? Surely these would be held by the administrator causing a serious cash flow for BI ?

As they are STILL are current franchise of Flybe obviously you’re getting directed through Flybe booking systems, things cant change until and IF things change with Flybe

I think BI are under a lot of financial pressure at present, their Chairman and founder is seriously ill If FLYBE go, they may well have their old booking engine that they could bring back to life, but have they the resources and money to do that?

Because they are continuing to lose a lot of money & their owner might well lose interest, or not be there to bail them out. Mind you, if BEE go bust they could take on a few of their CI routes - although this would stretch them operationally & possibly leave them with even greater losses !

…. and they don't have any of the interline agreements that Flybe currently has...

Dornier operated the GCI-JER this morning and ATR42 operated the 08:30 departure to LGW. The SOU is delayed by approx 3 hours.

loads must be pretty dire at the moment to make those changes.

Then surely it would make sense to reduce the schedule rather than keep running up the losses.
