Why do Wizz need a TV 'sleb' to promote their product ? They're a sizeable airline... perhaps best to rely on their own brand image, instead of somebody else's brand

Now they appear to be branching our more into the UK bucket-and-spade market they probably need someone Sun readers can relate to; I guess that presently they are primarily known for the Eastern European operations, and then by people in those countries and those from there living here.

Emblazoning her bulk across the front of an aircraft doesn't seem a great idea; hopefully they're not going to actually do it!

Looks like in order to board the aircraft Ms Collins would have to swallow you.

If Wizz are going to base this in the UK I suggest there is nowhere more appropriate than Southend.

Gentlemen you are perhaps being a little unkind to Ms Collins - and I would suspect the face to be applied to at least one aircraft.

22/04 I think you are being overly generous calling the last few contributors ‘gentlemen’. Why people feel it is ok to resort to crass, personalised attacks when they don’t like something confounds me. Akin to playing the man not the ball.

AndrewH52. I think it’s all a bit tongue in cheek, but seriously Ms Collins does have a large media following and could well influence the younger end of the market. As DC3 Dave says, SEN could well be a good place to branch into the Med holiday market. We have a large, pretty loyal to Southend catchment area and we do love our sun, sea and sangria holidays.

LED will get a 2nd aircraft in December with 5 new routes to Italy (TRN, BGY, TSF, BLQ, CTA).

Italy - Ukraine seems to be a big new market. FR also will launch several new routes to go haed to head with Wizz.

Whoever this woman is she's evidently immune to the virus as she's exempt from mask wearing. She should be hauled off to the lab now for investigation.

What that tells you is that whatever market segment they are targeting with this campaign it isn't you or I!! I have heard the name, but if passed her in the street I wouldn't recognise her, mind you that goes for most "celebs", it amazes me how few allegedly "famous faces" aren't famous, or even known to me. Is it a generational thing?

Is she the person you would like your company associated with, Andy? The people don't know her (90% of the passengers of Wizz Air) won't research her whether she is a charming person, all they will do is feal cheap. I know, to each his own and my ugly face would not cut it for airline commercials either but I simply can't imagine this will cause positive feelings for the average Wizz passenger (while that would be the goal of a commercial, wouldn't it?).

What demographic are Wizz trying to target in this campaign and for which routes are they trying to in raise consumer awareness and increase sales ? This looks to be a campaign of introducing the brand to those who might know only Easyjet/Ryanair with an emphasis on taking Brits to Portugal/Spain/Greece for a holiday on a budget; those interested in a city break in Budapest are not the focus

They are already well known amongst the communities from eastern Europe living in the UK so won't care if this advert doesn't reasonate with them

I'll be honest, that whole campaign is completely misreading the tone at the moment. The whole tapping of elbows of crew whilst not wearing any face covering, the whole premise of it. Wizz marketing really didn't hit it right on this one.

In a normal time, she'd probably make for a good campaign actually. But not this and not now.

Wow - all that says to me is that Wizz is not a serious entity.
It screams 'we want stag and hen parties on board our planes'. This comes at a time when resorts in the Med (Spain most recently) are actively trying to discourage the 'trash' end of the market.
The only time I've used Wizz was a one way flight between Germany and Belgrade and there was nearly a full-on fight during the flight between a group of Germans and some Dutch guys. There was a huge amount of verbal alcohol-fuelled aggression, exacerbated by the crew irresponsibly selling them more, continuously.
Fully expected the police to board on landing but it didn't happen - I read that as saying 'this kind of thing is ok / normal on our flights'. Needless to say I've avoided them since.

Ms Collins has previous when it comes to behaviour at airports.

I think DJ has hit the nail on the head. This is about telling a certain demographic that Wizz can fly them to the Costas, not just Eastern Europe.

She appears to be an overweight Lorraine Chase, without the class. Heaven forbid being wedged in the seat next to her for 3 hours.
Business and economy class has now been joined by the ultra low Chav class product.
A UK staycation is looking more appealing by the minute.
