Most of Europe appears to be 1.5m, I guess it's a case of UK "belt and braces", or perhaps because Brits have it all on understanding what a metre looks like, so making it 2m improves the chances of getting 1.5m separation. I tend to work to 1.5m+ when queuing.

The following is in the media in Tenerife, anybody confirm or deny this ?
UK’s DoT has confirmed after consultation with Wizz Air management that the airline has cancelled Tenerife flights until June at the earliest.

Thanks......the reason I asked was that the British Embassy put out a message that Wizz air flights to Tenerife were cancelled, hence evrybody panics without even looking at Wizz website. Lets hope they continue because there are plenty of people still wanting to return. There are a few planes into TFS from various places.

"evrybody panics without even looking at Wizz website."
Yourself included.
Try Aena, Flightstats, Flight radar, and the airline.
Lots of places to get the info

A lot of people will be looking with interest. If people who have travelled come down with it then expect a quick ban.

British Embassy in Madrid statements today:
Following our post on this page earlier this week, Wizz Air have now informed the Government that they have cancelled their flights from Tenerife to London Luton and do not expect to start running this service until June at the earliest. British Airways, Iberia and Vueling continue to operate flights to the UK via Barcelona and Madrid. These remain the most reliable flight options and we continue to post regular updates on this page. We very much regret the further disruption customers may suffer as a result of these cancellations.
Earlier today we posted reporting that Wizz Air flights between Tenerife and London Luton had been cancelled. We can now confirm that today's flight is running as scheduled and that flight WUK8129/W98129 departed London Luton at 1802 BST this evening. This has been a rapidly changing situation and we regret adding to the confusion. We will continue to update for future Wizz Air flights.
I would still be very woried if I had next flight on Tuesday despite anything Wizz website says.

Wizz Air have today announced six new routes from LTN:

Faro - From July (4x Weekly)
Corfu - From July (2x Weekly)
Zakynthos - From July (2x Weekly)
Heraklion (Crete) - From July (3x Weekly)
Rhodes - From July (2x Weekly)

Marrakesh - From October (4x Weekly)

I guess these are replacements for the Norwegian routes that seem to have been a big failure (with the exception of Tromso that restarts in December). I notice Turku in Finland has also disappeared too.

All routes will be competing with Ryanair and/or easyJet from the airport.

Exactly who is going to be daft enough to hand money over to Wizz for any of these services? There is no clear evidence that anyone will be flying anywhere in Europe from the UK for leisure purposes from 1st July, and we know that airlines, once they have their mitts on client's money are extremely reluctant to give it back.

What is the ticket price - low ticket price puts money in - and in the long term puts them is a strong position to steal traffic form EZY ( and Ryanair for Mararakech)

Far more "daft" people than you think...

Greece and Croatia have already confirmed they will be fully open for business in the coming weeks. I read today the Algarve are also gearing up.

Also people who booked their holidays several months ago will be obliged to travel or loose all the money they paid for their holidays. Jet2 and TUI are insisting they will be operating their full summer programme from mid-late June, and if they are operating the holiday you have a stark choice of going or potentially loosing thousands if you booked a peak time summer holiday.

After lock down there will be many people keen to get away and wouldn't be a surprise if there is a surge in bookings for the latter half of the year.

The Algarve is reopening the golf courses, and they are getting ready for tourists again. There was even talk that F1 could host a ‘ghost’ race there. There will be destinations ready to go by mid-July - some might be a bit further behind on that curve.

And if other counties will let them in there is next to no risk for those under 40 with regard to them getting serious disease

Greece and Croatia are gearing up to welcome visitors from certain other countries with equally low rates of infection. That will surely not include the UK.

Which is exactly why I wrote "from the UK" since at the moment we haven't anywhere near got infection under control - still coming in at ca. 4,000 per day. Germany around 400! Of course by mid June / early July things could have changed rapidly.

And all with the bonus of no insurance cover for Covid 19 issues before and during a holiday. Anyone here willing to take a chance?

With the new NHS app up and running it would be a shocker to get a text to self isolate a week before a planned holiday
