Krk/Ktw to NYC would put a big dent in LOT.

From July 2020, Wizz will fly between Turku (2h from Helsinki) to Kutaisi (about 3h from Tbilisi)

Seems a bit of a dartboard choice of route but I don't know either of the two markets particularly well. If Wizz can make this route profitable, then any route can be profitable..

Aside from perhaps the Albanian coast Georgia is maybe Europe’s last big undiscovered tourism opportunity. It has culture, history, coast and mountains so ticks a lot of boxes. The Government is I believe pushing tourism and trying to make the country more accessible and the range of current routes and new announcements reflect that - plus a couple in there like Heraklion for Georgians going on holiday.

The aim of this flight will be Finnish tourists, and the presence of a non-stop route will draw a larger catchment to Turku than might be the case for other destinations.

Wizz announces news routes to Russia from Luton: https://wizzair.com/en-gb/informatio...uton-to-russia

I managed to get a return to Moscow for £90... but the whole Visa admin/cost (around £115) put me right off!

Oh, yes, Orbán, the typical dictator, flies together with, and among the people on the cheap Wizzair. And even pays for it! Everybody, incl. the staff was shocked, for nobody knew that he would fly with them. https://t.co/GFI4wnqtrs

To which new destinations Wizz is going to put its 273 A32x orders?..... It's an enormous amount of aircraft….
New bases in Western Europe on the horizon?..... (it seems they have pretty much cover any single cities in Central/Eastern Europe so far. Not much remaining...)

I could certainly see some western bases being opened as Ryanair appear to be cutting UK flights, I could see Wizzair open bases at Doncaster, Birmingham, Liverpool or Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh, Gatwick and Belfast. It would make sense with such a large order.

Suspect they'll grow in UK but at existing bases, don't see any benefit in risks of new departure points in this climate. A real curious mix they operate from LTN essentially with little competition. Can't see SEN, EDI etc any time soon.

With Brexit, it wouldn't be surprising to see thousands of Polish, Roumanians, Hugarian, Bulgarian, etc... leaving the UK…. So not sure the UK is a promising market for Wizz. They have opened Luton just as an AOC set up in order to have a foot in the door and to still have some sort of access to the British market… but I suspect that's about it…. Not sure if the growth is in that direction for this airline….
