Forgive me if this is the wrong thread to be asking this, and please feel free to point me in the right direction... I had an assessment with easyJet for non type rated FO last october, and have been in the holding pool since then, expecting a start date in the, "spring time". Does anyone have any idea of possible course dates, or bases in the current climate?
Thanks in advance.

Airlines tend not to announce new routes when a plane crash has just happened and is all over the news
If Easyjet were planning to do publicity today (Wed 8 Jan) or later this week, they might choose to defer it by a few days until the Ukrainian crash in Iran has faded a bit from the headlines

According the Easyjet App BRS-CDG remain 13x weekly both before and after the start of BRS-ORY so it would appear this is in addition to the CDG Route...
Lets hope these aren't all the new route announcements we were expecting. A lot of movement in the schedule for MAN but otherwise little for LGW/BRS and nothing new yet for BHX...

EZY have just added an extra Thursaday Newcastle to Corfu to their schedule starting very early in the year, 26th April., filling the gaps from the demise of TCX.
They have operated this route for the last 10 years just on a Sunday.

To be fair, they appear to be more interested in BHX than they were this time last year with a doubling of routes from two - BFS and GVA to four with the addition of GLA and EDI. Small fry compared to BRS and MAN but then again BHX has 50 Jet2 destinations this summer....so perhaps not as much room for EZY at BHX as they would like away from some unserved city routes?

EasyJet basically did a copy and paste of the Thomas Cook schedule at Gatwick - adding extra services to the Canary Islands, Turkey, Greece and Spain - this included the Tunisia slots. Not sure on the situation at Bristol.

Last month there were some additions put into the BRS summer 2020 programme:
Antalya 3 x weekly (new route for easyJet from BRS)
Las Palmas 2 x weekly (previous winter-only route for easyJet at BRS)
Hurghada 1 x weekly (previous winter-only route for easyJet at BRS)
One extra weekly rotation on each of Tenerife South, Zakynthos and Bodrum.
A few weeks ago on another forum a member who seems very well informed on BRS matters judging from his/her track record said the airline was awaiting slot clearance at two new airports for BRS routes. One might be Paris Orly that was put into the booking engine yesterday replacing one of the previous Paris CDG daily rotations.
Marko is correct in saying that there appears to be nothing yet to show that the extra slots acquired by easyJet have been utilised - BRS is only level 3 slot coordinated in summer (BST), and then only between 2300 and 0700 in order to deal with its night time noise quota and movements restrictions.
It seems that in summer 2020 an addtional based aircraft (the 18th) will be required, following the pattern in recent years of adding one aircraft to the base complement each summer. However, as far as can be determined this aircraft is not yet fully used so there might yet be more to come for the summer.

it’s kind of what I expected at brs too but it has not been . So far there has been significant drops in available seats to some Greek destinations and Tunisia which I expected easyjet to take as per slot purchase but to no avail.

When is the next likely batch of EZY new routes to be announced eg W20?
Lots of capacity to fill for the winter months so expect some new routes for those who see a summer fleet increase

Electric Easyjet
Have been taking an interest in the gradual developments of electric aircraft recently, and one of the major players in attempting to develop an A320 sized jet is EasyJet and Wright Electric. It will be interesting to see how close to the 2030 target they are able to get a fully electric airliner into service. There is quite a lot of cynicism about electric aircraft being scaled up, but looking at how rapid things are improving in the automotive landscape I'm quite confident that the lessons learned and efficiency improvements will quickly help the aero industry.
Current estimate is for the motors to be flight tested in 2023, with a 186 seat airliner with a 300nm (345mi) range to go into service in 2030: https://www.flightglobal.com/program...136456.article
This made me wonder, how many routes do EasyJet currently have that are under 300nm, and the answer is quite a few (47 from the UK by my quick count/trawl through Wiki). Also, many of these routes are quite high volume (UK-AMS/CDG, BFS-rest of UK) so aircraft would be quite well utilised.

Ideally, you would want a small amount of extra range (probably 350nm/403mi) to cover some of the longer trunk routes (MAN-CDG, LGW-EDI/GLA are just out of range). It will be interesting to consider how such an operation would affect the utilisation of the jets, since they often fly a variety of sector lengths on any given day. I also wonder if (slot concerns aside), a fairly cheap to fly electric aircraft would help boost domestic aviation in the UK - routes like LGW-MAN/NCL likely make a lot more sense when not being flown by an aircraft that is able to fly almost 20x the distance with a full load.
