Is it some sort of requirements thing?
It's a legal requirment in Austria and Switzerland. British airlines are free to do as they like.

EJU... easyJet Europe Airline GmbH.

Radio callsign monitored as "Alpine" obviously reflecting the use of OE-reg machines & Austria as HQ base.

Winter 2019/2020 schedule release due tomorrow.
New routes will presumably be announced on a later date
Of the existing routes any surprises in store around changes in frequency or routes possibly being cut ?

With the world, European and UK economies all slowing, I would be surprised if EZY sent for major expansion.

I’m hoping they return to SOU for next winter season but as always I’m braced for disappointment because, well, it’s SOU.

What are the A321s like to travel on? Has anyone had the pleasure yet?

A321 LGW-RAK return in March, leather look seating pitch seems same as A320s. Larger galley area means half of row one does not exist, area gets a bit congested when waiting for toilet. The five crew members coped well with the BOB service on both flights. All in a pleasant experience, typical consistent easyJet.

Yes I saw that and wondered why it hadn't caused more of a stir. For an airline like United to buy 20 secondhand Airbus from a European loco seems like a first?

UAL have in service at least 12 A319`s ex China Southern/CSN & 2 A320`s from the same source with all the airframes being a good deal more than a decade old.

UA "only" have the B737 MAX on order for their short/medium haul fleet. No one known if/when they will fly again and how many might be delivered going forward per month. Maybe they'll take some more in the future.
DL and AA at least have some open orders for A220 and/or A321neo.

After Allegiant another nice customer EZY found on the other side for some of their older aircraft.

More likely a good placing by the leasing company who own the 319s rather than EZY.
