Difficulty with that one in Stn was you may attract attention of CMA as hold such a high % of routes. Additionally (if memory serves me correctly) that they went in when FR was down on planes awaiting new arrivals so hadn't the opportunity to respond.

From what I recall (and I may not have remembered correctly) the remedy slots which IAG would have to provide were for five slot pairs to be used on flights between London and Belfast and London and Dublin. At least one had to be to Belfast and at least two had to be to Dublin.

I would imagine that the slots from Belfast to London are the main attraction for Easyjet as it is between two strong bases, but to access the extra slots they will have to run twice daily to Dublin. It may be that as Easyjet would would only be running the minimum to Dublin that neither Ryanair or Easyjet would want to get into a price war and might tolerate each other.

I'm surprised BA haven't tried running some flights themselves on Belfast Gatwick to make it less attractive to any other airline that fancies a go with remedy slots.

How attractive the remedy slots really are though may be questionable, as Ryanair tried them, and presumably couldn't make them work as they handed them back. Virgin didn't make a success of the Heathrow Scotland remedy slots either.

Ryanair have the two DUB-LGW remedy slots.

Still strange timing that LGW-ABZ ending as this rumour comes around. Hopefully if they do plan DUB they don't waste time dragging the announcement out. Slots are ideal but I think they will have to go minimum of 3 daily to make an impact.

Guess they could use the Belfast slots on actual Belfast and free up non remedy slots on the route either.

Just you let you know , I spoke again to customer services who have now conceded that the route ends 8/2/19 , lack of internal communication or porkies ?
I can change my booking ( for free ) once I get the official notification, then I suppose it'll be a free for all !

No confusion. They applied at both DUB and LGW for slots to operate LGW-DUB in Summer 2019.

There used to be a means on the easyJet website to get fares to all destinations from an airport for dates of your choice. E.g. I tell it I want to go away from Jan 1 to Jan 8 starting from Gatwick, and it shows me the fares to every destination. It was always hard to find, but now I think it's disappeared altogether. That's quite a loss if it has.

you can do it on various other websites put in everywhere and you can even narrow it down to the particular airline if you prefer one over another. Never seen it on the ezy website though but a great little tool.

The European Commission has announced some measures designed to limit disruption in the air transport if Brexit goes ahead in March without a deal. The measures would temporarily allow British airlines to operate flights into and out of the EU - but not within it. Fortunately EZY has already established a new airline, easyJet Europe and obtained an AOC in Austria. At least in in theory this will allow them to continue flying within European countries even in case of hard Brexit. Nevertheless, the ownership of EZY Europe is and will stay British. Could this fact create any obstacle, what is your knowledge about it?

The ownership was 47% British when the annual report came out last month and they’ve stated the intention to increase it above 50% prior to the end of March
