I'm just wondering what's the reason of displaying the following information during the booking process:
Important information about your flights:
Some of our flights to and from Berlin Tegel will be temporarily operated by a partner airline on our behalf.
[blah blah]
By the end of Summer 2018 all flights from Berlin Tegel will be fully operated by easyJet.
Well, the Summer 2018 has already passed, so either
  1. The flights are operated by EZY but the website hasn't been updated
  2. The flights are still operated by "partner airline" (and indeed the website is outdated here as well)
Which option is right?

There are no more wet lease aircraft in Berlin Tegel.

That’s correct. All TXL based aircraft are EZY aircraft. IIRC 25 aircraft with around 5 nightstopping elsewhere each evening.

Speculation elsewhere easyjet might be about to announce DUB-LGW starting in April.

Very interesting development if anything comes of it.

Bearing in mind capacity on route then this seems to be sticking a finger in someone's eye............... if true.

They have taken it from FR for a long time and no response. FR will struggle to get extra slots at LGW and EIs are not great so could be a good option for easyjet.

With EI now operating to LCY (under CMA investigation) DUB-London isn't exactly the most competitive market and Flybe will likely exit SEN-DUB when FR start.

They withdrew blooded and beaten last time.
Ryanair just flooded LGW with capacity on NOC, SNN +1 other (?) just to make life impossible for EZY. I wonder if they've an agreement not to repeat such a bloody undertaking? Of course as soon as EZY gave up, FR just dropped half the new LGW routes!
DUB-London isn't exactly the most competitive market
FR offer STN, LTN, LGW though, but you're right, IAG really seem to have too much sewn up.

FR offer STN, LTN, LGW though, but you're right, IAG really seem to have too much sewn up.
The other was Cork which actually ended up being served 3x daily with EZY, they served NOC/SNN daily. FR jumped on the routes ORK-2x Daily and daily both to NOC/SNN, they dumped their fares and undercut EZY to undermine and thwart competition. Both lost money, EZY decided it wasn't worth it.

FR then dropped NOC (leaving it with out an LGW service unti XL jumped on it followed by EI when XL tanked), ORK dropped to 1x daily (Peak of 5 in total!) and SNN remained the same.

I can't imagine the same would happen now. Both airlines are far bigger now, and overlap on a multitude of routes across Europe. Ryanair made a feeble attempt to compete on BFS-LGW before retreating to fortress STN.

There's definitely room for both on LGW-DUB. Would be a welcome addition.

Dublin is Ryanair’s home, so I could certainly see some retaliation - I’m sure its because they got the extra aircraft into Luton and easy is just returning the favour!

Fares inn DUB-LON can be eye watering. EasyJet would be a turn-up for the books and watched carefully by the likes of Wizz. Norwegain are the only European LCC who have managed not to be hounded out of DUB by Ryanair’s preditotry, anti-competitive behaviour. Both Ryanair and Aer Lingus are weak in Scandanavia, which helps Norwegian.

Im not sue Ryanair or Aer Lingus would take kindly to the easyJet invasion. Aer Lingus have access to the IAG slot pool, Ryanair’s Belfast slots were a competition remedy also? So they may struggle to add significant additional frequency. They might sell every seat on every fligh for €9.99 though.

Norwegian were smart though, considering they’re a pan European airline they never flew to DUB from anywhere except Scandinavia were EI & FR are weak. Yes they did have that WAW flight from DUB but it wasn’t exactly a success. Always thought DUB is a big enough destination that Easyjet & Wizz could compete with Ryanair from certain markets.

Room maybe but people will want to defend home patch so reckon a price war would ensue.

Could be a full scale price war will happen next year anyway across Europe as believe Brexit will stifle bookings in Q1 from UK.

That was my thinking when Jet2 went into Stansted, I was expecting Ryanair to go full on aggresively protecting market share but nothing close to that happened.

On the Aberdeen page, xraydice has a booking for March and has contacted Easyjet and asked the question but has been told that their flights to LGW are valid.

I'd heard from someone recently that EZY were indeed looking at LGW-Dublin again - apparently a twice daily operation and somehow funded with competition remedy slots at LGW and DUB. Not sure of the background to it all, but there sounds to be some substance to the rumours.
