Reading the article it doesn't sound as though there were any technical problems or indeed anything directly linked with FlyBe. It sounds as though they were messed about by the handlers in Paris and then further messed about by handlers once they reached Manchester. I don't have much experience with Paris but have certainly been held on an aircraft numerous times at Manchester.

I suppose handling agents have enough staff to deal with a routine day, but when they experience delays and have multiple extra aircraft to deal with, there simply isn't the staff available to do it. This could just as easily been about Easy, TUI or any other airline you care to name. I'm amazed there isn't some form of penalty clause in contracts with handlers to say Aircraft X will be turned around in Y minutes or there will be Z amount of a fine levied? Maybe there is?

If airlines (and passengers) were prepared to pay for it, I'm sure ground handlers would love to have enough staff to cope with any possible peak in demand.

Think that's the problem with everything. We are all happy to fly round the world for stupid money but yet we expect 5 star service at all times. The two things are simply not compatible.

Are Aer Lingus or ASL on their behalf continuing FAO and AGP next summer from BHD? The LHR flight is bookable but the two sun routes are not as far as the end of July 2020.

Sunshine routes went on sale on or around 11th September last year.

LHR is on sale up to end of July which is about right for their scheduling.

Thats a shame Aer Lingus have stopped these routes. I wonder was the fact that there was added costs using ASL making the route unsustainable? Its a pity Aer Lingus didnt have a spare airframe to do the route themselves, might have made the difference between profit and loss.

Does that leave Amsterdam as the only non domestic route from Harbour? I remember their target a few years ago was to build a network of European routes, looks like its becoming entrenched in the UK market. I still think there's room for a better London offering if they want to compete against Easy who definitely have that market sown up from Aldergrove in choice and price.

I'm sure the marketing team led by the minister for propaganda are on the case. Must watch out for the news later where this route loss will actually be talked about as a success!

Confirmed from inside source that HOP will be will be soon announcing BHD-CDG 7 Days a week with a night stopping A/C. Vueling are also set to operate ALC,AGP,PMI Summer 20 as well as KLM going to two flights a day, BHD to announce mid OCT. BHD management have also been in contact with Lufthansa to operate a FRA route, A lot of Major European airlines see BHD as a feeder route into their long haul networks. I also hear that Stobart are also looking to BID for both BHD and BFS handling contracts,

I'd be more suprised than anything if IAG gave up summer sun from BHD altogether, I was half expecting BA in some guise or another like they do from other UK airports. When Vueling pulled off BCN there was always talk they would return.

HOP and KLM sound more wishful than anything but it would be brilliant.

Meanwhile on planet earth!!!! I would suggest maybe one from that venerable wish list of routes. If I was to suggest any that had any weight, it would be VY next summer.
