The route map is also showing MAN-BOD as a direct route but no direct flights bookable yet.
There's been a flight BE13/daily showing on the Airport Chroma system for a while now with the destination showing a ZZF (Unspecified destination) for the winter schedule. Is this related ?

It's possible, but probably too late for a W17 launch now, be interesting to see if it comes off.

Looks like BE are operating quite a few charter flights on behalf of Inghams next summer. Here are details of the flights I have found so far. All flights operate on a Saturday.

BE9117 = BHX 07:05 - SZG 10:05/BE9118 = SZG 10:50 - BHX 11:55

BE9222 = EDI 07:20 - INN 11:40/BE9221 = INN 12:20 - EDI 14:45
BE9223 = MAN 06:45 - INN 09:50/BE9224 = INN 16:10 - MAN 17:20
BE9225 = LBA 12:25 - INN 15:30/BE9226 = INN 10:30 - LBA 11:35
BE9227 = BHX 07:00 - INN 09:55/BE9228 = INN 16:10 - BHX 17:05
BE9229 = BRS 12:30 - INN 15:30/BE9230 = INN 10:35 - BRS 11:40

Most of the flights listed above were originally planned to be operated by WX.

Any reason why GLA-SYY is off sale on Flybe website?
Non-stop service bookable via online travel agents but not direct. Bizarre!

EDIT - Seems the website glitch is still there. According to Flybe. Loganair must be laughing. (Or maybe not seeing as they are charging £50 ew for this Monday coming)

Avios is not showing London Southend as a option under your preferred departure airport under your Avios account details.

Considering London Southend has a number of new Flybe routes it seems ridiculous this hasn't flowed through to Avios, after all Flybe booking's constantly advertise Avios points available.

Flybe need to get that sorted out with Avios.

Might just be a system error, can't see that hanging around for long, especially with new routes

I must say that FlyBe could market their Embracer 175 flights better. I've been doing a lot of flying recently, mostly with budget airlines but also with the established nationals, and they're all pretty similar when it comes to legroom and comfort. Basically, you are squashed in and the service sucks. However, one of my recent flights was CDG-DSA with FLybe and there is a massive difference compared to 737s - loads more legroom, just two seats each side of the aisle, very comfortable seats at that with mock-leather covers. OK the ride is a bit bumpier, but that s no big deal - for some it probably adds to the fun

If you book a flight though, there is very little info given about the type of plane or the level of comfort. Perhaps they should be marketing them as a lind of regional Ethiad, make the seating specs more prominant and, at least at DSA, offer closer check in times (similar to London City). At the moment you can see the prices are higher than many others, but there's no indication of the benefit.

unfortunately this is not a priority for the average customer on short haul and they will always be swayed by keeping money in their pockets, whether that be business or leisure travel!

I love Embraers, and yes the legroom is fantastic. Surprised airlines haven't done something about that!

FlyBe / Avios / Southend. Pah! I was looking at the FlyBe inflight magazine, November edition, on a FlyBe (Stobart) flight out of Southend and the only flight available from Southend (according to FlyBe’s own magazine) is to Newquay. Inept marketing would be a polite description.
(Flight to Glasgow was excellent by the way, but it’ll never succeed with such useless lack of marketing)

Are you sure you were looking at the SEN page not the STN page ?

The November magazine isn't on their website yet but the October edition certainly listed all the routes from SEN and, of course, just NQY from STN.

Slots

Looking for MON slots at BHX!

I take it someone is taking the........Their 2018 schedule is at least 6 movements less per day including 4 they have chucked away at peak times per the 2018 timetable.

They need to add two aircraft to stand still at BHX in 2018.

There are some very strange decisions with frequencies and timings with the 2018 schedule and where some such as the French route reductions are understandable others such as reducing Milan to daily and Berlin was a surprise.

I suppose with flybe. getting their BHX schedule finailised early is not as important as it is for the likes of Ryanair and Jet2, as most of their traffic would be fairly late bookers and maybe there is more to come.

Seems like a slow offloading of responsibility to third-party airlines(BlueIslands, Stobart & Eastern)... Maybe conditioning for a buyout?

Not sure they'll survive in current set-up. Perhaps an acquisition target by A N Other.

Flybe radio adverts blitzing prime morning radio in Ireland advertising low cost flights to London Southend. Currently running the adverts on the Newstalk FM Breakfast show. Good to hear it.
