I believe it is common practice in the UK to block in an aircraft when seized due to CAA Regulations. From what I read earlier, the aircraft at Glasgow were offered to be towed to remote stands by a ground agency but as the stands these aircraft are on are in effect "flybe stands" ie the ones they always used, the airport has said to leave them where they are until further notice

That's not official policy yet. ACL have been asked to consider suspending the 80/20 rule but have not yet done so.

The EU has now issued a waiver on the 80/20 rule until June 2020.

Does this however stop applicants for slots which are not being used devising methods such as applying for a Judicial Review, of not being given slots when they are sat there and unused.

I seem to recall in the distant past a 707 being "nicked" from Bristol. Or am I imagining it?

I know most of what you see in the program isn’t filmed as it happened. But discovery channel do show a program called airplane repo which had previously featured commercial aircraft as well as private aircraft.

Again, my out of date knowledge may now be as good as BS, but it used to be that you had to be able to demonstrate that you'd taken some kind of action that represented "seizing", and obviously the admin guy in your airport's credit control dept doesn't want to do that by actually flying the aircraft somewhere!

Having seen about the supposed 18 Q400s which may have a new lease i'd expect those to be the newest Q400s, mainly the ones acquired from Republic, as some of the oldest I wouldn't be surprised to see being stripped for parts or scrapped given how heavily they have been used. The E175s i can see being snapped up for use in America or Canada.

Airsouthwest, the administrators are keeping a small number of flight ops staff employed to keep the AOC running. They have also kept some flybe engineers on to maintain the aircraft until they leave or otherwise.

I think at the moment that any hotel close to an airport is in for a hard time. Friend runs a B&B close to Gatwick and while his trade is 50-50 between business and travel he says the next 2 weeks bookings are only business.

Exeter / SOU etc will recover but the whole industry will be hit so at least they have some breathing space as it is not just them.
