Good news for the South West
Slightly old news, as it has since come to light that NWI won't even start.

Yes, Flybe will not fly from NQY to GLA, NCL, LPL or DSA this Summer as they did last year (and Logan have stepped in on 2 of those), but they are growing flights to MAN and EDI compared to previous years ops. That suggests that they are focussing on the routes that may work best.

Yep swings and roundabouts at newquay for summer 2020

AMS * new
MAN increases to 3 daily on select days
EDI increases to 5 weekly in high season
ABZ & GLA upto five weekly
NCL upto 7 weekly
LHR * new seasonal operator

summer 2020 should see x2 based dh8s from flybe along with the additional non based movements so I would guess even with some of the once weekly routes being dropped that NQY should see a decent increase in numbers

It's the last day for several of the admin/ops/marketing guys at EGTE and around the regions today.

I'd like to wish them well and thank them for their support and skills over the years!

Good to hear that VR was an option - usually the least unpleasant way to reduce a workforce, people leaving because they have chosen to take that option.

As often happens (and I have plenty of experience of these situations), either those who remain will be left to pick up the work, or the "80% is good enough" mantra will be deployed by management.

Out of genuine interest as to how well (or not) this is all being managed, any insight would be interesting?

Not something an individual can really comment on (except from their personal perspective), and how well it is being managed will only become evident (hopefully) in the weeks and months ahead.

Understood, no intention to place anyone in a difficult/sensitive position, so look forward to anything that can be shared, and if not, no worries.

How does a cut to APD assist flybe, when it is simply passed on to government in its entirety ?

VHF4 I have to ask out of interest - are you the the infamous shunned trainee who was rejected from training?

Perhaps you should concentrate your efforts on your professional career rather than being such a bitter person? From what I heard you need to work on your skills as an airman.

A cut in APD means Flybe keeps ticket prices the same, or reduces them slightly. Keeps the difference, makes a profit, company survives, end of drama.

If they keep the ticket price the same following a cut in APD that's potentially 6.50 GBP per seat.

Aren't the losses greater than that

If Flybe collect £100m a year in APD, and it's halved by the Govt, then one could assume £50m more in Flybe's bank account if they don't change prices. Along with all the changes, cost savings, restructructuring, closing of unprofitable bases and routes... it would be a good start to the turnaround and rebrand into Virgin Connect.

More apocalyptic predications should the failing airline go belly up.
Pretty much accurate apocalyptic predictions.

Funny all posts since Brigantee stopped posting their blinded optimism.

Wonder if VHF4 is the other half of the personality?

Dont feed the troll people.
