Why is it D Day for Flybe? This vote is for Flybe Ltd and its shares. The only thing affected are the shareholders. Flybe the airline technically doesn't exist anymore.

quite right, BE the airline is now in the hands of Connect and will continue as per normal for at least S19 schedule before we see any changes. Today’s vote is effectively agreement for shareholders on the holding company and nothing to do with day to day ops!

From what source do you get "Bookings have completely collapsed" from ?

It's clear from CAA sources and recent statements from Flybe themselves that they are in fact enjoying increased load-factors across the network.

Very misleading headline in view of the fact that Flybe (the airline operation and all the necessary associated assets) have been sold to the Connect consortium so no need for passengers to be concerned. Have bookings "completely collapsed" to your certain knowledge?

My recent journeys (3 in recent weeks, another next week) would suggest otherwise (high load factors), and that most (industry unsavvy) passengers are not even aware that the airline was being sold.

It also seems that fares are creeping-up (based just on my recent experience) so I would say it's not all doom and gloom by any means.

Just flown 4 sectors in the E175, 2 of them were 88, the other two sectors were mid 80s. It was the same all over the weekend. Unless I imagined it?

At today's General Meeting the shareholders of Flybe (shell company as it now is, the assets already having been sold to Connect) voted to accept Connect's 1p per share offer. The vote was 63% For and 37% Against.

.....which in turn effectively means that Flybe will no longer exist as a listed/traded Company on the LSE from the effective date of the "Scheme of Arrangement", which is expected to be 11th March.

From then on, Flybe is effectively a brand and that's it ....for how long is probably the next topic of debate?

Virgin Atlantic has signed a wide-ranging codeshare agreement with Air France-KLM covering their transatlantic services.

The agreement will allow Virgin Atlantic's customers to book Air France- and KLM-operated transatlantic flights spanning 58 routes from 18 UK airports.

Air France and KLM customers can meanwhile access 24 North American services operated by Virgin Atlantic or partner Delta Air Lines from the UK.

Little Red. The time wasn't right?

Virgin Atlantic Connect? Seems to me it's all coming together. Hope the management are up to the challenge. As for Stobart? Well, what can I say!!!!

What's your view Weathergirly?

I know a number of people who recently held back from booking flights until this situation was resolved. Expect summer bookings to increase if others acted in a similar way.
