No I think it means Maintenance contracts.They had a meeting with MAEL who did their maintenance work 2 months ago.

Reported here on PPRuNe recently they had decided to take maintenance back in house and stop using MAEL.

Rumours been circulating for some time at BHX that being MAELs first 3rd party airline here, they got a very cheap deal and the contract was up for renewal this autumn.

I assume that would mean they may have to cut back more lucrative 3rd party maintenance at EXT to facilitate that .Thus increasing costs that are mentioned in the press release

If that's the case I suppose that it's conceivable MAEL could then be pitching for that third party work formerly done by FlyBe at Exeter.

There is a big change coming ref engineering which will short term increase costs , However long its going to really improve matters

The article linked at #39 says -

Flybe said it had incurred higher than expected costs in the first half of its financial year after a review of aircraft maintenance.

It said this reflected a drive to improve the reliability of its aircraft, particularly the Bombardier Q400 turboprop.
Unless the article is wrong, this doesn't look like a provision against increased future costs.

Don't know what point your making with the news links. These things happen and they happen to all airlines with quite some regularity.

More concerning reading the reports is the really quite low passenger numbers on routes, especially LHR-EDI which must be loosing money left right and centre to be only carrying 40 odd passengers.

So ratcheting you show 4 news items, two of which are referring to the same incident on 3rd October, and one that happened on 16th October. I am sure that you are aware that Ophelia caused over 6 precautionary landing due to reported "smoke/burning smells" in the cockpit - this included EasyJet who had 2 diversions, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.

I wouldn't bother listening to a word ratchet ring talks, its either about Flybe broken planes all over the place, or Monarch is stable company no need to listen to MOL. There are plenty of people like him about with tinted glasses on, that the downturn of Monarch all happened when the engineering was combined from Flybe. They blame us for it all

You need to lose that chip of your shoulder, Customers are not interested in petty squabbling, You just need to work together to deliver the aircraft on schedule!

MAELhave just signed a 4 yr deal with Virgin to look after their 787s.Seventeen are due through BHX this winter.Two already come.Also at least 3 A330s.

Norwegian 787s are revisiting again.A 789 was in this week.At least 13 are due through.
Other wide bodies also booked for the winter too.Two TUI 788s have also been it it last 10 days

Saw on FR24 an E175 operating BHX-AGP today. Don't think that's a normal route, are they picking up some ex-MON business?

Potentially some new flybe routes to come.

Campbeltown is showing as (CAL) in the timetable section, but no routes assigned to it yet.

The route map is also showing MAN-BOD as a direct route but no direct flights bookable yet.

The online TT had a total meltdown a few days ago and was back to displaying routes from 2015 so things like Liverpool-Amsterdam suddenly appeared again and all the old Loganair franchise routes popped up! Quite funny - took me a moment to work out what had happened. It doesn't seem to be the most robust piece of software and I would have thought that if Flybe were going to appear anywhere, Campbeltown would probably be one of the last and not the first - it being a PSO and a pretty small one at that.

Flybe are operating a weekly Saturday charter flight to Innsbruck next summer 2018 season for Inghams Holidays. Looks to be using a Birmingham based aircraft that also w-legs to Leeds/Bradford.

BE9227 = BHX 07:00 – INN 09:55 / BE9226 = INN 10:30 – LBA 11:35
BE9225 = LBA 12:25 – INN 15:30 / BE9228 = INN 16:10 – BHX 17:05
