Please can we move on. If someone is a troll in your opinion ignore them or report the post.
If there are to be tax changes to APD I guess we’ll find out on March 11th at the budget but given rumours of changes to fuel duty on environmental grounds I don’t see how they could increase fuel duty on cars but encourage flying.

Anyone know when the funding decision is due?
All this uncertainty coupled with this pandemic nonsense has sent bookings off a cliff.
BHX for some reason seems the worst hit .

This pandemic nonsense, and I fully agree, it is largely nonsense, will effect all airlines. I don't know how you can affirm that BHX has been effected more than other airports, unless you have access to sensitive information that ought not be on these pages. i would suggest that if it is true, it's probably because BHX, being a larger base, has more (numerically) to lose.

I am acting, I suspect, like other passengers. I am waiting to book a ticket to see whether they will be around after the end of the month.
There is no need for the partners to put money into flybe to support routes that they have no interest in. They have another airline that will take over the routes that they are actually interested in.
If they have enough cash to keep going until then, you can see budget day being the crunch date. Flybe can blame the decision to shut up shop on the government if they fail to make the changes to APD.
I have no inside knowledge in this instance, just my analysis. I, do of course, hope I am wrong because of all those potentially affected.

I think it’s fairly common knowledge bookings are suffering which is why a end to uncertainty is needed either the owners put the money in or the government does , Who doesn’t really matter , time is of the essence here .
Hopefully this latest health scare will fizzle out shortly i’m sure it’s being massively overhyped
Hong king flu ,asian flu ,bird flu.....it’s nothing new

That is something a lot of people are banking on , As i see the situation at the end of the day it’s not as if the company has no funds and is dependent on government money to survive, it might be nice to get a loan at a reasonable interest rate but it’s not critical to survival .
However it needs sorting ASAP .

I think the problem is it’s a rumour network hence it’s full of rumours and what often turns out to be fake news 😀
Trick is to sort the wheat from the chaff , Not always easy !

Discussion is always welcome on the site, but most of what this person is posting isn't even backed up with common sense or reliable reference. 90% is negative Flybe. If they're so anti-Flybe they should just log off, or risk a ban.

Come on chaps, put your handbags down now. As reversethrustset said, if you don't like a certain poster then just ignore them.
Back onto topic. It's a crucial time for flybe!
I was never convinced of connects intentions when I was there. I remember reading that a big part of the plan was as a feeder for virgin and possibly other airlines too like AF/KLM and Delta. At the time when connect was formed and they took ownership of flybe the 3rd runway was well on the cards at LHR. Virgin was arguing the case that slot allocations (once the 3rd runway was completed) would have been unfairly in favour of BA. They now have a regional ability and demanded more slots at LHR when the time came.
Well whatever there intent is with flybe, as of today that 3rd runway looks a lot less likely to happen.
I wonder if this will change Virgins view on flybe?
