I was on Sunday night's LHR - GCI and passenger count was 33 (with three no shows from what I overheard the ground crew saying).
When I flew GCI -BHX on Friday evening I counted 56 getting off the LHR in Guernsey before the aircraft did our BHX run.
Sunday night's LHR - IOM flight was from the gate next to us and I counted about 12 people from where I was sat who got on the bus.

its interesting as the winter time table gets loaded how few flights are actually being dropped. still a few flights from Doncaster and Cardiff still negotiating, just a few sunshine routes seem to have gone from 3 small airports. hopefully good news for the employees.

Just a shame that the NWI-EXT looks to have been dropped thought they would put it on the Dash once the jet goes, loads always good when I flew on it, of course doesn't mean it made money

Surely you mean the media gave the impression the airline was closing down which was never the case from the airline's standpoint.

Doncaster has lost over half its movements for winter, and if the same for next summer even more. Just the two routes available now.
Not just the sun routes have gone, they've axed Dublin, Paris, Jersey as well as alicante malaga, faro and newquay

I think the LHR-IOM slot was released back to Virgin from Jet Airways. The turn-time is more suitable for long-haul departures, at two hours. I don't know if VS will have a better use for it over the winter, or if another long-haul airline may lease it again. If VS can delay retirement of some outgoing aircraft they may be able to launch BOM themselves, BA have already added 4 additional weekly services.

Where do the media get 99% of their headlines from? Like I said, there wouldn't be a story to report on if the headline was "Flybe up for sale but they'll be fine". There was absolutely no indication from the Flybe hierarchy that they would be closing, just wishful thinking people in the media and on here not being able to add 2 to 2 and come up with the correct answer.

Didn't stop the notable complete lack of service, or even politesse, on the FlyBe flight, particularly at the Birmingham ground end.

LCY-EDI the other week. Flight very full and they were offering to take bags on a cage at the aircraft side, to be delivered aircraft side at the other end (according to the ground staff). Mine was easily compliant but for comfort and the greater good, I put it on the trolley. Tag was a simple paper job with the flight number on it. Very grateful ground staff, happy customer. Get to EDI and guess what? All bags taken to the carousel, regardless. "It's Flybe policy, we never deliver bags at the aircraft side."

Same thing happened to me last year at Biarritz, as boarding aircraft they were insisting on taking all bags & was assured bag would be at aircraft steps on arrival- but no - it was sent to the carousel not great if your passport is in the bag !!

Does any knowledgable folk around here have any idea when regulatory approval will be granted for the Connect Airways takeover? From what I’ve read that’s what they’re waiting for before they can do anything, but have no idea when it might be!
