Malta Govt know that airline cannot survive on its own so left with 3 options.

Sell to highest bidder.......... few bidders

Close and let free market offer flights

Work wit Airline bringing most people to the Island and happy to continue expanding

Small picture is small airliebe some employees, big picture is the Islands tourism industry providing jobs. Better the bigger picture.

Ryanair have 'offered' to announce a large order for a Boeing 737MAX variant at the Paris Air Show subject to 'advantageous' price discounts.

A fantastic time for any airline to negotiate a cracking deal with Boeing for the MAX/variants. We all know that it will be fixed and safe to fly at some point, yet reduced purchase costs will be the order of the day as Boeing will want a return to brand credibility and future viability!!

No. Max is a Frankenstein of a plane with questionable certification process and any future crash (and those do happen) may cost airlines operating the type a lot more than the savings. And imagine if a Ryanair Max crashed for some reason (statistically this may happen one day as they cannot operate 500 planes for tens of years without any)

Yup

Max 200 list price is $125 million..... figure Ryanair will get them for €30-35 million if that.

Oh it will be certified beyond belief and doubt they will be flying for Ryanair before next summer such will the going over occur.

There will be huge amounts of SIM time for anybody flying it.

There is speculation that the -10MAX does not have the MCAS system, as the additional length moves the CoG backwards, so it flies like the NG's. If the -10MAX is certified as an NG variant then it could fly while the -8 and -9 are grounded. There are a lot of if's and buts there - if Ryanair do order, my guess is it would be the 737-10 variant and the MAX branding would be dropped, as Mr. Trump suggested.

what? MAX-10 for Ryanair???

I think is too big for FR. Up to 236 seats. Bigger than a 321.

How would it be too big? Both Wizz and Easyjet both operate similar capacity aircraft and seem to be doing ok. I'm sure Ryanair would be fine operating a similar sized aircraft. Lauda already does.

The A321neo is typically 235-239 seats with LCCs, e.g. Wizz 239, Cebu 236, easyJet 235, so about the same as the MAX-10, although Airbus says the A321neo can technically hold up to 244. I can't post the URL as I am too new, but search on Airbus' website for its A321neo.It would be interesting to see the unit costs of the MAX-10 versus both Ryanair's existing 738s and its coming 197-seat MAX-200s.

On some of the bigger routes they will easily sell out the -10 at peak time, 1 extra crew member and 25% more seats. Sun routes will not be an issue

Have flown W6 and U2 in the 321 and prices are way down from where they were previously on some routes
