Brilliant, tomahawk98. Join the obsessive idiots who either do not understand, nor check their "facts". That article is very old news, and factually full of flaws. There seem to be no professional pilots on this forum. Just fools who like airlines and planes.

Sadly, that Alex Macheras kid accurately posted info on flyBMI’s closure, well before any of us employees actually knew. We all hoped he was some kid with a website for his GCSE media coursework, but we were wrong.

He posted that all the aircraft were returning to the UK, and upon the final one touching down, flyBMI would be no more. This was 2 hours before any of us knew. Some of us were still operating.

It pains me to say it, but he’s a better source than you think.

I hope it’s not true, because I know exactly what it feels like.

"im no fantasist and the only thing I have posted that seem now to be incorrect is the booking system."

To be fair that's quite significant surely?

Any one of us can say TCX is going to fold in the morning, the writings been on the walls for days now, but we remain optimistic. He's merely an opportunist looking for a few more follows because he 'broke' the news first.

Being shown no flights is no where near comparable to an actual 'we have ceased trading' is it? Seriously, why jump to such a sensational conclusion.

Right let’s get one thing straight.
I have a very strong interest in what is happening To Thomas Cook, it will affect my position with another well known airline tremendously. I’m no fan boy or troll my work life is going to be very interesting over the coming months if Thomas Cook has or does go under.

Just to add (skyscanner) a well known booking engine has removed Thomas Cook flights from their systems
i have checked and checked again before posting this information.

Just to clarify, Quote from ITV News is that the company is ‘set to go into administration in the morning’.
Unfortunately there are bigger issues at stake for all concerned.

Condor have stated on twitter that

‘Condor continues its flight operation. We will publish updates on our website shortly’

hopefully, it’s not over just yet.

Perhaps a stupid question, but are thomas cook germany/condor to go bankrupt if thomas cook uk do or are they operated as 2 companies entirely separate from one another?

Old History

Condor really makes money, Scandinavia across the tour operator and airline Makes money. Uk source market doesn’t, and the uk airline doesn’t. The Uk has the old My Travel / Airtours debt which means it will die. My Travel was the biggest mistake and 15 years ago was too much debt for the banks to absorb - life is different today.
Companies with credible business plans don’t go bust - the uk operation has been bust for years
