He reports that todays MCO crews are actually deadheading straight back to base tonight. Whether that is true or not, I don't know.[/QUOTE]

The flight deck are, but it was always rostered that way.

Technically first flight of the day is MT679 DLM-BHX but first flight from a homebase for the whole group would be DE1624 HAJ-PMI (operated by SmartLynx), first flight for MT would indeed be MT406 BRS-NBE.

Looks like TCVB which operated TFS-STN is positioning up to Manchester shortly, looks like a disruptive day all round for the TCX fleets, all over the place!

For those posting scurrilous rumours, you should be ******* ashamed. I am in a safe job but have suffered this fate before and it is horrible. I have mates who will be suffering this now. Stick to facts and wait for what will be.

This is not Eastenders! This is peoples lives!

In Mon's case the plug was pulled when all aircraft were on the ground as it happened on the normal schedule early Monday morning. With TCX I assume there's never a point in time when this occurs at this time of year so I guess if it was happening it would be planned for when the minimum no of aircraft are airborne. As for a/c being put on remote stands at present this could be just normal practice overnight (with a/c planned to be moved to piers in the morning), or airports could just be just hedging their bets just in case, with no knowledge of any CAA/govt plan.

With Mon, all ticket prices were hiked significantly about 24 hours before the plug was pulled (i.e. e-mail to all staff), supposedly to discourage bookings for flights that it was known would not go (although it seems the decision to fold the airline had already been made more than 24 hrs before the price hike).

That's still due to the JSI WX issues today, it'll perform a MAN-CFU-JSI-EMA-MAN tomorrow to pick up stranded pax.

The airline is profitable and efficient possibly a chance that it could be sold off as a separate entity along with the engineering business

There is no prize in second guessing events. There is no kudos in inaccurately interpreting news.

Why not wait, or is patience in such short supply?

I can't remember where I saw it, but there's been some fairly extensive reporting to say that a sale of the airline to separate it from the tour operator has been largely ruled out due to the complexity involved

I feel for the staff but it would set a precedent that the govt will bail out private companies.

I'd also please ask that only facts, not conjecture are posted - at the moment we don't know what's going to happen.
Best of luck to all involved.

BRS NBE pushed on time airborne 0415LT first of the day out. Now let’s stick to the facts.

I went through this 2 years ago with Monarch, so I have an idea what the crews are going through. The rumours, That gnawing, churning feeling at the bottom of the stomach every time you hear some bad news. It’s awful, and I honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Like many, I turned to prune to try and get some news. As crews we are (deliberately) kept in an information vacuum - after all, if they turn round and say “company’s fcuked Guys, but can you come in tomorrow anyway to give the feds chance to launch the rescue fleet?” they’d get a range of answers.

2 years ago, as now, I was shocked with the glee that some posters seemed to post on this forum. The only analogy I can think of is that it was like football transfer deadline day, everyone pitching in with whatever half misheard rumour had wafted over in the pub. Trying to outguess which would be the last ever monarch flight (before the fact) was, in my opinion, a low point.

I know its a rumour network. But please, before you post, just have a think about how what you write would be received by the TC employees. Is it likely to be true? Is it going to add new information? If the answer to either of those questions is “no” maybe go and put the kettle on & have a think before you hit “submit”.

It it doesn’t look good for TC. I hope they can at least get some breathing room to sort out their problems. Good luck guys - I know some of you from spotty M, you deserve better.
