Rescue flights...

Not adding to the rumour mill but only pointing out mind.

Almost everyone looked the other way when chartered a/c positioned at STN ready for the MON `rescue` flights five clear days before the collapse.

Only saying.

And is there evidence of aircraft appearing anywhere unexpectedly ready to swoop in and rescue the deserted holiday makers?? I personally have seen no evidence of this?

Whilst I agree the media needs the right to report facts, its absolute hysteria that they are reporting. Typical case of click bait. Lets hope they move on to something else in the coming days when the company continue to trade as normal. They'll soon get bored.

Rescue flights?

where are these so called rescue flights being reported? I haven’t seen any reports saying that? Probably because it’s not true! But why let the truth get in the way of blood thirsty people hey?

if you are no longer a shareholder then probably best to leave the thread. Lots of exaggerated scaremongering going here in relation to TC which is not helping the staff there at present my daughter being one of them.

I don’t need to leave the thread. I’m just telling you that me as well as many others stop being shareholders with Thomas Cook as none of us have confidence they are financially stable nor do we believe they will pull through. We believe they will collapse by Friday.

Rescue flights

Heaven forbid it will come to this, for the customers and staff.

With current problems with the MAX and 787 engines, most of the wet lease aircraft are busy covering these shortfalls.

Where would you find airframes unless they used TC crew.

I think they will use Airbus Fleet, like A320s and airlines that don’t use Boeing.

You’re*

The only person who appears to be a 7 year old with no brain here, is you.
If by any chance you really were a shareholder at TC until this morning, then on behalf of us all, good riddance.

I sold all my shares this morning, if this was happening at the start of Q4 I wouldn’t be that worried but the start of summer season tells you a lot.

I would be careful about trying to police this group you have no authority to be telling people to leave.

If or when it happens, Aircraft don’t ha e to come from European Airlines, just look at Monarch where Qatar were used and don’t forget the Americans were down to help.

And of course the 787 and MAX issues are only happening in Europe. Some agenda's being played out here....

Possibly Germania again like Monarch did and other carriers, or even Thomas Cooks own fleet. For Example, TCX crew fly it to help passengers, or the UK Government can allow Thomas Cook to fly for 4 weeks to help passengers, like AirBerlin.

Hopefully it will be better than when Monarch collapsed, thousands of stranded passengers as only 2 weeks of passengers were brought home, and some had to go to a different UK airport,

Wonder if the CAA will soon be planning rescue flights or not?

You can shop in Debenhams today, just as well as you could last year. Same with Flybe. Monarch failed because it’s loses were unsustainable, Thomas cook is still generating a profit from operations, and has in the region of £500m headroom for this winter. It’s winter loses did increase but only by about £70m compared to last year.
Thomas cook, like all tour operators at this time of year is at its peak cash flow. Some people will cancel their trips because of this, but they will lose their deposits and Thomas cook will be able to resell their holidays at a discount while making even more money on it.
I have no doubt Thomas cook will be a very different company in the coming months. But I would be very surprised if it stopped trading altogether.
By all accounts the capital that TC holds is the the bulk, if not all customers money. Take that away and it paints a very different picture. TC does not hold big cash reserves of its own, something that the CAA is all too aware of.

Doubtless the CAA are fully aware of TC situation and are doubtless keeping a very close eye on developments people don’t need to panic there not going to marooned on the other side of the world if the crunch comes

I flew back to Manchester from Orlando with TC last week, I fly the atlantic route 4 or 5 times per year, usually Virgin Atlantic, but gave my business to TC for this last trip due to the ridiculous prices and lack of honouring air miles by Virgin, anyway that's for another debate....

The TC flight was manned by the most disinterested cabin crew I've ever come across. A quick drinks service then dinner service (well a carboard container of pasta, nothing else on offer) and that was it we didn't see any cabin crew again until an hour before landing when they came round and threw a breakfast snack at anyone interested.

Maybe "chinese whispers" within the company suggest they know more than we do, and just can't muster up any enthusiasm anymore ?

Hopefully the company can survive this current financial issue and no jobs will be lost.
