Has Stansted-Nimes gone from being all-year to summer-seasonal or has it been dropped completely ? CAA stats show it operated during the 2018/19 winter but neither Luton nor Stansted seem to have tickets on sale to Nimes beyond the end of October 2019.
By comparison, Brussels Charleroi-Nimes and Stansted-Carcassonne which are both broadly similiar routes are on sale over the next winter

Hi I am a newbie on here, But if of any interest I have taken a few pics over the years at Stansted mainly while it was a Airport Fire Fighting School. a few modern ones I will gladly share if there is a interest not brilliant pics but welcome to see if you wish. No problem if not appropriate on here?

Ryanair's route to Pardubice looks to have ended. FR seem to have also reduced their Stansted-Grenoble route form year round back to winter seasonal
I imagine these cuts, along with the Stansted-Comiso route are due to being short of aircraft after the 737 Max gorunding - clearly the least profitable routes will be the ones that are cut

I hope you won't mind my asking, but which are the routes out of STN which have plenty of availability for £15 ?
I'm guessing Brest, Brive and Rodez in France are on the list, but would be interested to know which other routes out of STN are having a less-than-perfect time

I would be interested in the older material, especially of the Fire School as Air-Britain Stansted Branch held its initial meeting there. Perrhaps best open a Stansted thread on the Historiacal page. The Luton one gets well used.

Booking is once again available for SAS during W19/20 and S20 up to 19 June (Heathrow bookings being taken up to June 26) maintaining daily service throughout, all flights that I have looked at are due to be operated by A320 NEO’s.

Hijack scenario
Currently Stansted is the designated UK airport in the event that an aircraft is hijacked - mainly because of the large amount of space and ability to isolate/contain such an aircraft. On the Manston thread, the question of making Manston the primary UK airport for hijack scenarios was raised
The last big hijack lasting more than a few hours that I can remember at Stansted was the Afghan case in 2000. I realise that compared to the 1970s/1980s, airport security has significantly reduced the risk, but these events do still happen occasionally. Traffic has more than doubled since; I'm wondering how a large scale hijack would play out today and whether Stansted really could cope without major disruption to flight operations

It’s not just for hijack, also for any threats made against the aircraft and related issues.
The Air India and the Jet2 flights over the last month both came in due to threats.
Stansted has a contingency plan and operation for these type of instances.
I was at work when the Air India flight came in and the only normal operation was only affected by outbounds waiting to push or hold on the taxi and inbounds holding in the air. This only went on for 15 minutes.

The government did decide to make Stansted the airport of choice. MAG on takeover of Stansted didn’t want it but the government insisted on it.

Not sure if it has been remarked on already, but the ACL Initial Coordination Report for W19 shows Indigo being allocated slots for a STN-DEL route (along with a wide range of other new routes from other carriers). Of course this is just the initial allocation (slot handback deadline is Monday 15 July) so airlines may still decide not to follow through on their slot requests.
