Couple more STN widebody snippets today.

Emirates used a B77W in the A6-EP* sequence today on the UAE33 the first time the newer A6-EQ* a/c have been subbed since service start.

FDX B763F departed today after arriving a week ago from CDG to enable FDX ground training & familiarization, perhaps ultimately replacing the A300F on Intra-European flights then?

Yes I’ve heard a rumour that the B767 will eventually replace the A300’s. I know this has happened within Asia so can’t be long for Europe to follow.

Also an appearance of one of Antonov’s AN124’s today UR-82009 arriving from Alicante.

Its happening starting July. Phased implementation per route with the 767F replacing the A300-600. CDG-STN-DUB-STN-CDG being the first. All the A300s should be gone from Europe by November.

Has the Windmill been affected by people boycotting Wetherspoons over Tim Martin’s Brexit stance?

After the local council UDC approved STN expansion plans from 35m to 43mppa in November the decision was then subject to a review by the Ministry of Housing Communities & Local Government to adjudge if the decision should have in fact been taken locally.
Safe to say a Government Minister has ruled yesterday that UDC were the right body to approve the planning application & the expansion plans will therefore not be called in.

Is that because the Stansted Express cannot be relied upon at the moment...like much of the rail network out of Liverpool St?

National Express state passenger numbers have gone from strength to strength on the service particularly over the last 12 months & regarding the Stansted Express say...now just as frequent, just as quick but costs less.

SSE Judicial Review has been on hold in the High Court for the last 4 months pending a decision from Government & stated above.

SSE say they are now taking legal advice on "whether to widen the basis of their legal challenge".

They say they intend to "update" the High Court by the end of next week.

SSE has confirmed it will commence legal proceedings to challenge for a Judicial review into the Mar20 decision above by the Communities Secretary not to intervene in the decision by UDC to approve STN expansion to 43mppa.

Muddled picture as it appears SSE challenging the decision not to intervene last week then & also challenging the original basis for the expansion planning by MAG.

Win Win for lawyers.

On a positive side note STN is expected to overtake MAN in a very few months to become the UK`s 3rd busiest airport again.

YL-LCQ has been reported as TCX summer lease for STN.

TCX operate to DLM this morning...1st service of season?

With the transition to summer schedules only the easyJet STN-AMS service appears to be prefixed EJU all others retain EZY.

Thomas Cook

Are Thomas Cook basing two aircraft at Stansted this summer? If so, both Smart Lynx?
