Emirates Cargo has only run charter flights into Stansted before. Most commonly doing horse box charters.

Nothing on the radar! It's not even on their web site EGYPTAIR CARGO No sign of STN.

Emirates

Emirates will be operating two flights on 14th and 21st December and the 03rd January. These flights are on sale on the Emirates website. Showing as a B777-300ER on all flights. Seat map is not currently available for these flights so unable to tell if it’s our standard three class configuration B77W or a different kind.

14/12
EK2643 DXB 0405-0755 STN
EK2644 STN 1400-0055 DXB

21/12
EK2643 DXB 0405-0755 STN
EK2644 STN 1400-0055 DXB

03/01
EK2643 DXB 0350-0740 STN
EK2644 STN 1400-0056 DXB

Also I have passenger figures for Emirates for the last week.

Inbound/Outbound
22/11 187/297
23/11 199/275
24/11 238/238
25/11 278/242
26/11 308/237
27/11 257/243
28/11 249/___ (figures unavailable)

Still very good figures in my eyes for the time of year. I do know that today First and Business where both totally sold out. Which I think is extremely good.

Very useful figures from Emirates...

The 3 extra holiday period services with their timings could almost be a reflection & dummy of an intended schedule for the eventual second daily.

MAG reporting 6 months stats ended 30 September `18...

STN 6 months pax traffic 15.9m + 8.9%.

MAN 6 months pax traffic 16.6m flat growth.

Both large airports in the group now nearly level pegging in pax volume.

Mid-haul could be Jordan with Ryanair. They’ve launched Amman and Aqaba from various non-UK airports. Otherwise likely to be Cape Verde with TUI or Thomas Cook I reckon.

I wonder if one of the routes could be Emirates 2nd daily.
worth a look up at Manchester I think for inspiration on the other routes, Yes Cape Verde would be a nice addition with TUI or Thomas Cook.

Yes India isn’t really mid-haul. More long haul to be honest.

Scoot to Singapore has been mentioned in the past. As has JetBlue to NY and/or Boston.

Then again it it could be a total ‘didn’t see that one coming’. A bit like back in the day when BA under the guise of CF announced their intentions to operate from Stansted.

Maybe Level ? Can I just ask before we get too carried away, are we talking new routes or in talks to gain new routes?

My Guess...

Emirates: Second daily
jetblue: New York and/or Boston
Pobeda: Kaliningrad or Moscow
Pegasus or AtlasGlobal: Ankara

I’d personally love to see a couple of unserved European Routes added to.
Paris CDG or Orly, Düsseldorf, Helsinki, Brussels. I’d even love to see Gibraltar added.

Ryanair going to Amman and Aqaba: This would depend on the speed on the MAX200 as I know the current -800’s can’t make it their and back within the crews flight hours.
Cape Verde: Possibly a chance this could happen but I’d think for W19 at a low chance but more likely S20 if it does happen. I only say this as I know S19 and W19 is already on sale.
But with Airlines and the current world who knows what will happen.

Pobeda tried to launch Kaliningrad but apparently had issues. https://www.flightglobal.com/news/ar...n-plan-452193/

That’s not a new route though, just expansion of an existing one.

It could be something from the Heathrow waiting room, Xiamen Air for example don’t fly here yet.

Could even be something from Heathrow’s fringes selling up - Biman

If true it’s probably an airline that is currently at Manchester getting a good deal rather than Heathrow IMO.

May even be one airline with two Longhaul routes maybe Singapore airlines for example, or even Thomas Cook.

Maybe Air Transat or Air Canada Rouge, I’m going to stop guessing now and wait for the announcement it could be anything.
