Well MAG have offered to Emirates if they bring in a second flight then they will pay for Emirates to fit out the SAT1 lounge space anyway they want. Emirates have already installed the WiFi to the lounge, but this is apparently for their ground operations.
I must say I have not heard anything like Emirates being offered the whole of SAT 2. I work for MAG in one of the operations departments and have a quite good working relationship with Swissport and some of the Emirates base managers and they have never mentioned this to me.
I just can’t believe this would ever be true. If MAG where to offer Emirates any type of deal like this it would be in a new SAT, never SAT2.

To be perfectly clear & to reiterate what SWBKCB has pointed out now twice...
I was just illustrating the precedent of a SAT being offered exclusively to a client & one illustration I am aware of was Emirates.
The precedent has not been exclusive however to Emirates as has been mentioned VIR had been offered a SAT probably on an ongoing basis in the past & was far more well known within airport circles for some years. The overconstruction of stands to the east of what is now SAT3 that I have mentioned before was alluded to at that time with a possible VIR backstory.
Logic says there would have been others,
Just to EMPHASISE this was all under BAA ownership & we all are aware of course MAG have had ownership now for five years.
The machinations in the BAA boardroom in the past & leading up to it`s sell off originally & then prior to breakup as demanded by the Monopolies Commission under Spanish ownership would always have been "interesting".

But I guess if they did then Stansted wouldn’t be the Airlines first choice.

In fact El Al used to operate TLV - STN - EWR back in the day. If I can remember right it was sometimes scheduled with the 747-400. Some really good fares on the route too, but they also used to cancel it a fair bit. It wasn’t that well marketed IMHO. I imagine if it was operated these days with the power of social media especially from the Stansted side of things would do a better job of promoting it.

Air India have only recently relaunched flights between London and New York under their existing long time fifth freedom rights .
There would be little problem for Emirates in gaining similar fifth freedom rights if requested imho.
Indeed MAG GROUP would likely encourage such a request however might look to support their northern runways in such a venture in the first instance.
FIfth freedom flights via MAGs northern runways have a very long history indeed.

I thought one of the main reasons EK introduced Stansted was due to the freight a B77W can carry.. With LGW, LHR, BHX and MAN all A380 operations the Stansted flight can take a lot of the freight that would otherwise have been transported by road a long way north.

Reference the MAG offer to provide bespoke lounge facilities in SAT1 for Emirates with commencement of a second service will it in part reflect the high end fit out & service of the new Business Class in the a/c used on the existing UAE33/34?.
I realise UAE34 departs at a relatively quiet time for the terminal but do the Business Class pax have access to fast track?.
It will be interesting if & when launched what cabin classes will be provided on a second service.
Would expect a "standard" cabin a/c with standard turn round times...UAE33/34 having timings designed around a specific market.

The East of England China Forum was officially launched on 22nd November facilitated by Stansted Airport & comprising business groups, county councils, local government, tourism agencies & universities to support the drive to secure a direct Chinese airlink.
The STN CEO states "the expectation of the forum launch will eventually culminate in the securing of a direct link between Stansted & China".
It goes on to say the formation of a similar forum in Manchester has previously proved very successful.
Highlighted & involved is Jiangsu Province a not insubstantial region of 80m inhabitants with very good trading links with Essex & the region.

Comical....
Never let reality get in the way of a good prejudicial viewpoint eh Skipness.
Your post is an attempt at baiting & can be ignored.

Somebodies getting their MAG's and BAA's confused
Am I imagining it, or did Emirates Skycargo not serve STN with the B777F?
BTW I wouldn’t say I was prejudiced, I think that’s unfair. Play the ball, not the man. If you want to help me contextualise this better, (it’s how I learn), perhaps you could tell us what year BAA made the offer? Helps understand what era of Emirates growth this fits in

Egyptair Cargo
(After 15 yrs of absence) When does Egyptair Cargo plans to start flying to STN? Starting? Anybody have an idea? As a neighbour of Ostend Airport I’m just curious if they want to shift activity from OST to Stansted?
Maybe because they expect a hard Brexit, and access to (south) UK via Ostend might get difficult?
But of course could be also “just an expansion of their services”, they have two extra A330Fs on order.
