Probably because the current indications are that we won’t be following the kamikaze version of Brexit championed by Rees Mogg et al, and there’s an increasing chance we won’t be having any Brexit at all. I’m pretty confident that if we did take a “no deal” path the level of expansion cited would be quite short lived.

So on with the positive news for STN with one or two further Jet2 snippets...

EXS Summer `19...

MAN #1 EXS base.
STN #2 EXS base.

MAG airports 1 & 2.

STN with 920,000 one way seats planned for Summer`19.

Average network load factor 92.2%.

All in all remarkable EXS stats for STN from zero in just two years to out perform the original & home base LBA.

I wish I could find the post I wrote over a year and a half ago saying this was going to happen. There was a lot of none believers at the time.
Well done to Jet2 and MAG.

I'm sure that you meant EGYPTAIR rather than Air Egypt!

Egyptair Cargo previously served STN around 15 years ago three times weekly with A306F before moving the flight to Ostend Airport.

If the information that you have provided is correct it's great to see yet another cargo carrier resuming/starting operations at STN.

With regards to Cargo carriers I'm actually surprised that Royal Jordanian Cargo haven't ever announced STN.

daz211 one must wonder how Ryanair is dealing with this competition. Who knew that an airline such as Jet2 would be able to 'wipe the floor' with Ryanair!

Seems that the traveling public are certainly voting with their feet in embracing Jet2.

I think that the traveling public are voting with their wallets rather than their feet :-)

It's great that Jet2 have expanded in the way that they have done at STN and in such a short time frame as well but I wouldn't necessarily say that they are ''wiping the floor'' with Ryanair considering that the latter are also expanding their operations at STN.

Obviously there is room for both at Stansted something that three years ago the majority of us would have thought very unlikely.

2019 will be a very interesting year to say the least!

Passengers have left Ryanair for Jet2 in their droves at Stansted.
but luckily for Ryanair their will always be new passengers turning of age to travel alone or with friend rather than family.
obviously some will put up with Ryanair but for people wanting a better experience for the same or not much more money Jet2 has been then answer.

Yes 2019 will be an interesting year But let’s see what happens in 2020.

I think there is growing demand for a nice secure all in ATOL protected package such as Jet2 offers. FR's reputation for cancellations (whether fair or not) is beginning to take its toll as are seemingly endless changes to the add-on costs of flying with them.

I believe a growing number are unwilling to jeopardise their hard earned week in the sun by trying to save a few bob on the flight when they and their social media contacts conclude the airline is unreliable.

Load factors network wide for RYR in October were 96%.

Average load factors network wide for EXS in the latest report were 92.2%.

With STN being RYR`s # 1 base & from next year STN being EXS`s # 2 base there is no reason to suppose seats sold would be at variance with their published network load factors.

Clearly STN is producing the numbers for both enterprises with the differing models all are aware of.

….& the people on the street are reflected in the load factors & base stats quoted.

Maybe you are living in the wrong hood.

Quips apart I reflected the public`s perceptions & expectations with the models by stating they are different.

No need to rehearse here we are all aware.

RYR can be very responsive to markets witness their ongoing "flash sale" right now tho.

Yeah Cyber Tuesday deals started early with fares starting at £4.98 one way. For that price they can change the flight time, change the destination airport and cancel the flight.

Emirates

Moving from the LCC and bucket and spade flights. I have spoken to a friend at Emirates at Stansted today and Emirates will be adding some small additional frequency over the busy Christmas and New Years period. This will be between 3-4 flights on selected dates.
Then they are looking to have the second daily flight launched before Easter.
If I get more details of confirmed dates I will let you all know.

It will be some kind of record for Emirates to launch a second daily service so soon after the inaugural …It has taken many airports much longer to work up a second service & in some cases not at all.

Some additional services over the holiday period may help indicate the uplift that Emirates are experiencing from STN too.

Hopefully STN will be able to look forward to an Emirates Lounge facility at some stage & their associated ground handler also.

All in all v positive from Emirates then & await any details of the extras.

daz211,
How can we know that passengers are leaving Ryanair in their droves?

Jet2 are so differentiated to Ryanair, going after package holidays for the most part... this is suggested to be in excess of 60% of their passengers...

That would indeed be remarkable before Easter, as virtually every Emirates destination is getting reduced before Easter including Stansted for the six week period when one of the runways gets resurfaced and coinciding with Ramadan when loads vanish as a quick as a ………….

Still 5 a week from mid April until June and a second service would indeed be astonishing before then. Not saying it won't happen but would there be much point if say it was from February or March?

I have always been supportive of Ryanair, and have flown them plenty of times from STN.

hiwecer with their ridiculous splitting up of groups policy I now avoid flying then unless solo.

i will pay £20-25 more per ticket to fly Jet2 or EasyJet.
abd that’s a family of 4 so up to £100 for the trip.

the only disappointment is Ryanair are the only airline to fly to Barcelona - I wish one of the others would add some competition to the route. The demand is there, Ryanair fly 4 times a day. Still rather fly Ryanair from STN than brave Luton though
