Hotel courtesy buses.

For the passengers that choose to overnight at Stansted and wait till the morning for connections into London. National Express run a 24/7 operation to multiple destinations in London and some to other destinations.
Of course some people do rely on local buses which don’t run as good a service as they do during the day, which is an annoyance to some, and the airport is speaking to local bus companies to improve the services.
Failing this there is the based taxi company which can be expensive but if you go to the ‘Infomation Desk’ there are a list of local companies which can offer a more competitive price.
For many people they do have options to get to London and home but some not all are lazy and refuse to use the alternative services that they wouldn’t use during the day.
Is this 100% correct? A cargo aircrew who land at 0320 every weekday get dropped at the terminal soon after and have to wait until 0415 for the 1st bus to the Holiday Inn Express. The Hotel have told the operator this is their first bus of the morning. I would be interested to know . Is this a breakdown of communication?

And the airline they work for won’t pay for a taxi?

If Ryanair did cargo 🙄

New Shuttle Service runs from 01:00-04:00 every half an hour. This shuttle runs to Holiday Inn, Premier Inn and Novotel Hotel. This was an official communication. This has been in place since 26 July.

Busiest ever October for STN...

+ 205,000 pax on the month for + 8.8%.

Rolling 12 months now 27.6m for + 7%.

Very impressive figures accounting as they do for the loss of Primera throughout October too.

Yes....listened to the planning debate thru the UDC website today, very interesting to say the least & to hear local Councillors asking their questions & stating views in a local context concerning issues of National importance.

Some attempted to purely localise the issues but the Chairman overrode them with a casting vote after two tied show of hands at the end for & against by stating a larger National view was the more important.

Requires as above Secretary of State approval.

Fantastic news though for STN & of course the region.

Congratulations to MAG with all their positive endeavours for the airport.

Well done STN, I was involved in the development and design of STN in the mid late 80's when the BAA where in charge, and 800 acres were set aside for a second runway. Onwards and upwards!

Well done STN. Maybe that will take the wind out of the sails of Luton Council who have their own plans for expansion.

Another interesting fact from the STN planning meeting yesterday...

Highways England revealed a £10m interim scheme to improve access between the M11,A120 & the airport would begin in 2019 & take approximately two years.

There is an argument that MAG should be paying for access improvements and not the taxpayer seeing that they are creating the demand.

Interesting & debateable point but perhaps one in a general National context & not purely one concerning STN per se.

The issue may also revolve around Highways England`s terms of reference & responsibilities.

Arkia the first A321NX/LR operator worldwide has utilised their first into STN on a crew training/route proving flight from & to TLV...

Ops to STN slated to begin at the present time third week of December.

STN sees the NX/LR but ironically the first operator worldwide was due to be Primera.

Are you sure about the airport code BCD is Bacolod Airport in the Philippines unless it was on a delivery flight for a new operator!

I was thinking the same, or at least one of those airports that annoy the hell out of me when there Twitter name ends up as LDN (London Luton Airport there are others but I won’t do a list.

I should have checked before the need for this edit, FR9810 is STN-BCN.

Jet2 Summer`19...

Interesting stats/analysis published elsewhere indicates STN S19 base growing 23.4% over S18.

Summer`19 will now see STN overtaking LBA in terms of base size.

A remarkable achievement for STN in exceeding the home base ops in just two years!.

Don't tell the remain supporters of Brexit, the UK is doomed according to them. Even Ryanair that was so anti leave and promised retribution has just got on with providing a full programe out of Stansted.
