As this one was returning to Stansted, Alleginat N315NV (ex G-EJAR) departed Stansted for delivery to the US. It seems it went first to Bangor, Maine, presumably to get more go juice, then off to Puerto Rico. Stansted to Bangor ME; that is a long way for an A319 surely?
Most would tend to do a stopover in KEF, but with an empty ship and favourable weather, a possibility. Bangor would also be used to clear customs.

Not for one with no payload.

From Stansted Airport Twitter page. As of yesterday 31/10/2018.

As part of the terminal transformation programme, the overnight access to the terminal has changed and passengers departing on early morning flights are reminded not to arrive sooner than their scheduled check-in time, bit.ly/2ElXi5f. Thank you.

Yes they are. Pay for a hotel room like any civilised person would, it’s not a hostel.

The description sounds much more extreme right than left wing.
But when people price that bargain flight they should price in the hotel as well.

Yes this team is still working at Stansted on contract. When you work at the airport you realise what a massive boost this team gives to the operation.
Furthermore they only wake passengers up that are lying down over seats or floor space and blocking emergency exits and equipment.
The last I heard was they would be staying at Stansted until at least the end of summer 2019.
Hotel rooms are available and booking in advance will get you a good deal. Also a new ‘Premier Inn’ is being built in nearby Bishops Stortford. This will have around 100 rooms and is right next the train and bus station, for easy connections to Stansted and London.

I’d be interested to know what they would do in cases like May Bank Holiday this year, where thousands including myself arrived delayed after midnight/1am and there was no way out of the airport and even people with hotel reservations had no way of reaching them.

Just for your information, all the hotels now have a 24/7 shuttle running to them every night. This has been in place since 26th July.
The car park shuttles run 24/7 to all car parks. The Blue car park also has a shuttle to it now.
For the passengers that choose to overnight at Stansted and wait till the morning for connections into London. National Express run a 24/7 operation to multiple destinations in London and some to other destinations.
Of course some people do rely on local buses which don’t run as good a service as they do during the day, which is an annoyance to some, and the airport is speaking to local bus companies to improve the services.
Failing this there is the based taxi company which can be expensive but if you go to the ‘Infomation Desk’ there are a list of local companies which can offer a more competitive price.
For many people they do have options to get to London and home but some not all are lazy and refuse to use the alternative services that they wouldn’t use during the day.

Or maybe we did, and the first available was estimated for 4:30am. Same for Uber, and local firms had no one available.

Its good to know they run 24/7 now.

As for the rest of it, it didn’t apply on that occasion. There were just too many people for the coaches, buses and taxis available. I’m not talking taking the odd late flight, I’m talking 40+ arrrivals after 1am which is exceptional.

In my personal circumstances I did not consider that I would be missing the last trains/coaches because I was arriving so far before them it wasn’t an issue. Having to fork out for a taxi would have been an annoyance but one I could afford and cope with. I don’t appreciate the insulting comments about options that aren’t available as though I’m completely stupid.

To be honest Stansted looked like a homeless shelter before the prodders arrived. I’m all for it. The place had more rough sleepers than Centre Point has at Christmas.

So - if I ever get prodded by a Stansted Airport left-wing KGB chap I would - seriously - cross the airport off my list and toddle off to Luton or Gatwick. And - if it costs more - so be it.
Whats the obsession with calling the workers left wing? What has politics got to do with it

The poster perhaps requires to read properly the very informative info yesterday from someone on site regarding who gets disturbed & the criteria engaged.

TBH this poster either has an obsession & or an agenda...possibly both.

Am I right in saying that it is the first November that Thomas Cook has ceased to operate any rotations from STN ?

The way I look at it is this.

You have various options. But you are personally choosing none of them. You know the rules and how it is well ahead of your travels. You can’t complain about it when you are choosing to go against the rules. It’s no different to someone turning up at the gate with an oversize bag and getting the hump when they knew well in advance it wasn’t allowed on board and then causing a stink. You see, this is the problem with our society today. So many folk are full of self importance and just because they don’t like it, they feel it’s their right to go against it. But you can’t get the a*** about it because you have/had options. It’s YOU that’s choosing not to accept any of them.

If if you don’t like how it is then you really do need to reassess the situation and perhaps book a different flight from a different airport. If it’s Southend however, don’t turn up too early as the airport terminal is closed overnight and it’s damn cold outside this time of year.

To to be blunt, it is you that’s making the situation awkward for yourself. And the only person it affects is you I’m afraid.

I’ve just looked at the Airport Premier Inn over the next few weeks and there are rooms available from £45-£56 which I think is pretty good for an onsite stay and you’ll get a good night’s sleep.
