Emirates...

By any yardstick from anyone on here those figures are staggeringly good.

EK certainly did their homework & then some.

2nd daily?...must be on the cards subject to this first service being optimum timing for the specific targeted business & departures onward from DXB for them.

Excellent figures for MAG to portray/play in negotiations with other prospective airlines.

Stansted setting it`s sights on long-haul...

STN has just published a wish list of at least 25 destinations it is targeting & wishes to secure in the next 5 years.

Among them Hong Kong,Vancouver,Bangkok & Los Angeles.(Full list on STN media page.)

MAG/STN has figures/data from the catchment that would support all destinations.

As remarked above the EK figures help to supply the evidence.

Bring them on...….

12/09 344/tbc

So that’s a 99.7% load factor for the departure over the last 8 days, and arrivals at 92.4% over the last 7 days. This is if my maths right.

.
Have you got the arrival and the departure figures the wrong way around?

All arrival figures are higher than departure, bar one.

Newark... 9659 - 172 per flight... 87% load factor - not sure how accurate due cancellations and divs
Toronto... 4465 - 172 per flight... 87%
Boston... 5516 - 153 per flight... 77%

Obviously we with the operational mess surround Newark I can't vouch how accurate these figures are as often FR24 states "unknown"

Boston was 36 rotations and Toronto 26 and these numbers sound reasonable.

The other factor is that some BHX pax would be on these especially Toronto but I have no idea of the percentage though.

I tell one frustrating aspect is formatting on PPRuNe and screenshots don't seem to work for me

Worried about a bit of competition?
Dont assume that what Primera offer is the best available.
Many things can still go wrong , oil prices rising , legacy airlines deciding to go up against Primera .
Thats happened before at STN so they will be 2 years too late for what?

Spot on STN406, except that the 2nd A330 has been earmarked for MAN, along with the current one. Expected to add at least ALC/AYT onto the larger A/c and maybe more Canary frequency too.

my comment was nothing to do with Primera, my Primera bias isn’t strong enough to convince me they can compete with JetBlue I was just saying By the time JetBlue have their first aircraft delivered, other carriers like Aer Lingus and Norwegian will already have them. I’m no expert but surely that boat has well and truly sailed by then?

I think Aer Lingus will have enough work at Dublin to keep them busy. I imagine that Norwegian might want to focus their operations at LGW, but stranger things have happened. Primera seem to be expanding heavily for next year, with Berlin, Frankfurt and Madrid. I hope they haven't over stretched themselves. BHX didn't recover from the initial poor product and press.
