This cutting is from a Tweet by Stansted airport in conjunction with primera.
Reporting on the launch of the Stansted to Washington service.
Just thought I would share.

“We have made clear our ambition is to provide passengers with more choice and opportunities to travel long-haul from London Stansted, including more services to the USA and the addition of new routes to CHINA and INDIA, so the launch of this new service is another step towards delivering that goal”.

This has been MAG’s goal for a while to get direct links to India and China.
I’m sure MAG aren’t happy with how Heathrow has found all these slots for China Southern, Hanian, Beijing Capital and Tianjin, as I’m sure they would have been trying to attract them to Stansted.

I think it’s inevitable those airlines would have ended up at LHR because you have to understand it’s about prestige, the perception is LHR is the key gateway to London and one of the world’s most famous airports and that is where the Chinese will want to be.

What is disappointing is that MAG have been unable to attract genuine supplementary routes like Cathay and Qatar, especially as they already deal with those airlines. Anything else is pointless as the end game is a shift to LHR.

If Primera want to go anywhere meaningful in China, surely they would need something with more range than a 737 or A321?

Any info on N777UK 772 JFK-STN arr. TOM 06.58

Since found out that N777UK belongs to the Bank of Utah trust (Salt Lake City), & has non-public flight details.

Systems showing a 07:00 arrival. Parking on stand 511 will be handled by Harrods.
No scheduled departure showing currently for the next few days, but this is likely to change.
My flight system at work has it coming in from FOK Francis S. Gabreski Airport in Suffolk County NY, not JFK, though this is possibly wrong.

Handling Agents

I have spoken with the Swissport manager tonight and confirmed that they do now handle Loganair and BMI and will take BA over from the 1st of September which is handled still by Menzies.
Swissport are also very likely to take the Pobeda and Luadamotion contracts when they start operations in October.
But things may change will the shuffling of Ryanair and Swissport currently happening.

No decision made yet, they’re not going self handling as such. Either Swissport will split in two if they win the contract again or the new handler will be solely Ryanair.

Either way Ryanair will essentially will have full control over the new contract. Everything will be Ryanair branded including staff.

No it’s Menzies. GGS May have assist but the handy agent for BA is Menzies. This ends this Saturday though when Swissport take over the BA contract.

Menzies haven't been present for a few weeks now. It's purely GGS.

As for Ryanair... Blue Handling.

Menzies were doing check-in and boarding for BA until 27th, GGS ramp and dispatch, from 1st Swissport will take over the old Menzies duty’s, and GGS will carry on doing ramp until end of Summer

hope that clears things up

The train services from Elsenham or Stansted Mountfitchet are not great. Most of Ryanair appears to live in Bishop's Stortford.
