I wonder at 430 if that is the highest uplift of any pax flight at STN todate?
Could be, I can remember a full B744 EL-AL but I think Max seating was something like 405.

Corsair 744 charter probably beats that; They seat 536 and many moons ago Wardair sneezed more than 430 on classic 742.

Perhaps someone with time on their hands could work out the average loads of the Air Atlanta charters back in the 90s, their 747s must have been densely packed.

Tower Air 747s also used to come in here and there. And there’s been various football charters over the years.

Arkia commenced ops into STN with their new (& colourful) A321LRNX today from TLV in lieu of the B738 of Travel Service used previously.

I think the Arkia LRs were originally destined for Primera, with Arkia picking up the options after Primera went bust

very colourful livery

Whitelighter, you are incorrect, Arkia suddenly found itself the launch customer after Pimeria went bust. they were supposed to be the second customer for the LR

Great news for Stansted. I personally thought Stansted would be dropped over Gatwick with their recent announcement of route suspensions.
Really good times too, will feed better onto the US and Candaian routes in both directions.
I know before they stopped this year in the summer most flights where heavy with connecting traffic.
Great boost for the airport to have service to the US and Canada albeit through connections.

Great news indeed!

In fact WOW now have the transatlantic market to themselves at STN. No competition (unlike Gatwick) and very little competition from EZY on the KEF route.

Should be a win win.

Currently their will be no competition on KEF as easyJet stop KEF on the 30/03/19, unless they change it to year around?
This is actually a very good decision by WOW in their restructuring as they will have full market share on all sides.

Complementing the 787 discussion elsewhere TOM/TUI B788 `TUIC departs STN for Puerto Vallarta/PVR a Gatwick redeployment.

BAW & EZY have been positioning back to LGW during the day after diverting in during the closure.

Also Ryanair decided to operated all Gatwick flights from Stansted today. 11 inbound and 11 outbound consisting of 8 DUB, 1 ALC, 1 SNN and 1 ORK rotations.
Good for the airport for landing fees and a small increase in today’s passenger figures if all flights where full we may have had an additional 4158 passengers today !

Stansted-Rodez is just a resumption. Was previously flown but suspended in late October 2015
