So the airport can make money from car park fees from objectors as this will last weeks
Why not take the bus from Bishop's Stortford and walk from the bus station to the hotel?

Appears a goodly central location with ease of access for all concerned Covid notwithstanding.

A panel of three Government appointed inspectors will handle the public inquiry.

14,000 pages of documents already submitted & MAG submitted another 880 pages on October 16.

A proposal to use video tech exists though objectors are not too happy.

Back in the news today...flypop.

Announce a significant investment from the UK Government`s Future Fund & plans launching in `21 with scheduled low cost flights to India initially.

Say they are completing the final funding round & will begin negotiating low cost airport deals in both the UK & India & with a/c manufacturers.

I suspect just a carbon copy of Summer 21, subject to much chopping and changing over the next 12-18 months. Unlikely to be anything to get excited about.

I thought all other airlines except Ryanair had been temporarily relocated to Sat 2 given that Sat 1 has now been closed? Unless I'm wrong, this means Easyjet, Air Moldova, AnadoluJet, Jet 2, Pegasus and TUI are now all operating from Sat 2 (internationally)?

Also, given that the TTS is now offline, how are gates 20-39 accessible to passengers by foot? I've never noticed any signage to the upper (international) level from the domestic level (gates 81-88)

If you have access to the Airport Community App you can see that all flights other than Ryanair are using gates 81-88, regardless of international or domestic.

Upstairs (20 to 39) is accessible from downstairs (81 to 88) if there is a guard in place to prevent inbound international passengers from exiting that way through domestic arrivals, this has been done in the past (during long term TTS outages etc) their is pop up signage available for this if required and is part of the contingency plans in place for various scenarios

in addition the traditional domestic only departures gates were scrapped many years ago, and any flight can depart from any gate (I’ve done domestics from Sat 1 and vice versa), it’s only inbounds that are the issue because of routing to UKBF

Not really surprising. It was aimed at the ski market. That market is dead this year for sure.

Such a shame regardless. STN had already lost SAS' CPH route, so it looks as though SAS have (again) withdrawn from STN. What are the chances of them returning in the long term?

Further regarding flypop...

Funding secured from the Government Future Fund initiative is reported as £250m which within the scope of the scheme requires flypop to match with private funding.

I very much hope they do return. A good alternative to the Ryanair flights to Copenhagen. SAS seemed to be relatively happy with STN. Went to daily flights from 5 weekly quite quickly and went from A319 to a A20N. Also where adding a summer seasonal Oslo and winter seasonal Lulea.

Money down the drain then, as not many airlines survive.

I am guessing it doesn't or they wouldn't have done it. They are not going to upset one of the biggest cargo carriers at the airport.

It does state cargo facilities will remain open so Fedex will be OK. More interestingly, dont Ryanair have a lot of arrivals after 1700. Cant see them being happy
