Possible, but go head to head with Ryanair on OTP and VNO.
Ryanair do Triple Daily on the OTP and Daily on VNO.
SBZ would be a good addition to the Stansted network, guess we will have to wait and see until something definitive comes out.

Taken from twitter.. @ourstansted
Stansted media centre.

A High Court judge has dismissed an appeal by Stop Stansted Expansion (SSE) to have the airport’s planning application to serve more passengers determined by Central Government.

The application, which would see the airport increase the number of passengers it can serve to 43 million per year without increasing the number of flights already permitted, was first put forward in February 2018. In line with Government policy encouraging airports to make best use of their existing runways, the application was submitted for local consideration to Uttlesford District Council (UDC). The Secretary of State for Transport subsequently confirmed it did not qualify as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), and that UDC was the right body to determine the application. The application was initially approved by UDC’s Planning Committee in November 2018. However, following the local elections in May 2019, the new administration voted to return the application to its Planning Committee for further consideration. In January this year, members of the committee ignored the advice of its own officers and legal experts and refused the application, citing concerns around air quality, noise and climate change.

As well as dismissing SSE’s claims that this decision should have been taken by Government ministers, the High Court ruling also raises serious questions over the way UDC handled the climate change matters relating to the application.

The airport is currently considering its next steps following this decision.

Its a summer holiday seasonal route and therefore ends 3/9/20.
All flights are operated with both businesses class and economy.

Sounds like they could not get the Luton slots for the summer peak due to the seat cap. They provide their own staff for screening etc so this will add to their costs seeing the Luton staff are already there. Next summer we will see if they retreat back to Luton as the airports capacity should increase by a million for next summer due to the council voting on their own proposals via a proxy.

Just to correct a common misconception, the EL AL security staff are in fact Israeli Government staff and cover all Israeli registered aircraft. They go wherever they have to to look after these flights, the UK staff are London based and not Luton based. That said it does appear that they have been forced to come back to Stansted rather than having chosen to come back to Stansted.

Air Senegal

Air Senegal will commence 3 flights p/w to DSS from 28 June on an A321 with both businesses class and economy. Reservation is now open on third party sites another great addition to the STN network. I’m sure it’ll be popular with both passengers and freight.

I wasn’t expecting this to be the next airline and route to join the Stansted Network. Absolutely brilliant news. It’s operating Tuesday, Friday and Sundays.

DSS 00:15-06:25 STN
STN 07:50-14:05 DSS

Not to bad flight times really. Can’t wait to be welcoming them to the airport in June. Looked and on sale for the winter with same schedule.

If I’m not mistaken they’re due in March and April.

On a separate note does anyone have the inaugural Air India loads for the new Mumbai route?

Plenty of Brits would be hard-placed to point to Uzbekistan on a map of the world, but non-stop flights between Heathrow and Tashkent operate
Dakar is not about to compete with Barcelona or New York for Brits wanting a holiday... but there's probably a niche of people who want to fly direct instead of via Paris

Some very nice Beach resorts in Dakar, a quick google of Dakar Beach resorts, show some impressive hotels and resorts, I will certainly be trying it out.
Im sure Cargo and Business will be popular on this route.

From tiny acorns....maybe it will be successful maybe it won’t. This is a more leftfield route I never saw coming, but it’s a vibrant place I’d personally love to visit
