Pamann - are those new Greek routes simply Jet2 moving the seat miles that Thomas Cook flew from Sussex to Essex ?

Personally I don't think you would get many people trolling over the Dartford Crossing to Stansted from south of the Thames, maybe North Kent but not from East/West Sussex,Surrey and Hampshire. It has to be Gatwick and if pushed Heathrow.

I think youíd be surprised at just how many people from south of the Thames will and do make the journey to Stansted. Just like it works the opposite way around with Gatwick. People north of the Thames for years have had to make the journey round the M25 to Gatwick. Itís no big issue (traffic depending).

The bucket and spade market is price sensitive. Not forgetting that some of these destinations now, Stansted is the only option in the south.

Out of interest I was wandering how SAS are doing at STN as they are one of very few flag carriers here and are in direct competition with RYR.

Iím surprised they donít add Stockholm seeming as Ryanair only fly to NYO where the drive into Stockholm is well over an hour. Itís nice to see that full service can work from STN even if it is in competition with RYR. Hopefully OSL will be a success.

In other news Anadolu Jet has filed daily SAW-STN flights.

Have Albawings just made their route to Tirana seasonal instead of year round ? It looks like seat availability has been withdrawn for all dates in February and March, but seats remain on sale over the summer peak (by which time, Albawings presumably will have extra aircraft capacity)

I'm guessing that it would be more profitable to fly Tirana-Italy routes, following the likely demise of Ernest from the start of next week

Or perhaps the home office has reduced the number of border agency staff rounding up Albanian illegals due to a certain issue a few weeks away and their repostings to the physical points of entry to appease the average DM and Telegraph readers complete ignorance of the real work they actually do. Sitting a booth is the least of it !

No repatriation market , no guaranteed revenue !

Just a thought

Titan 767 G-POWD left for DGX as AWC767Y at 10.23, it had not been used since the 8-1-2-20, is this the end of POWD at STN ?

Route seems to have been moved to seasonal, currently suspended until 6th April, when daily flights resume.

AtlasGlobal

Things are not looking good for AtlasGlobal at the moment, with news sites now reporting the airline is suspending operations until 09/02: https://simpleflying.com/atlasglobal-suspension-again/

Given that this is the second time in 2 months that KK has had to suspend flights, I wonder what are the chances of TK taking over the STN-IST route if the airline fails?

Turkish have already released STN - SAW operated by Anadolujet starting end of March. I guess it's only a matter of time before Turkish mainline to IST.

I was thinking the same, it would make more sense now.

Any body have any information about how emirates are doing now with two flights a day, will they go to three a day or even add the A380. Is it getting good load figures?

what about the Air India flights is that doing well and will that increase?

Good to hear AI and EK are doing well, does anyone know if Air India carry freight to STN?
