Eastern W20/21 Schedule

As mentioned in the Eastern thread they have released their initial winter schedule. Looks as though they will be getting some more ATR72-600 as their current planned Southampton schedule indicates that 4 of them will be based!

- Aberdeen and Teesside not on sale yet.
- Leeds Bradford reduced to 11x weekly J41.
- Belfast City, Dublin and Newcastle all 12 weekly with a morning and evening flight on weekdays and one flight Sat/Sun.
- Manchester 17 weekly, as above but 3 daily on weekdays.
- Will be interesting to see how Eastern fills the gaps in the schedules, as surely the relatively expensive new ATR's will need some decent utilisation to pay their way?

Good to see some more promising news though. 👍

Maybe the ATR's of BI/Eastern will pick up a few French regionals ie Bergerac, to help support utilisation. Can't see them taking on AMS or CDG and Loganair have already stated their intension to only support the northern routes!

There is talk that Loganair and Blue Islands might setup a codeshare .

If that does happen, I can see maybe a tie up with Eastern Airways and Stobart Air,

If this does happen, I can see 4 white ATRs and the 2 E190’s from being used with Eastern Air
im only guessing this so will need to wait and see what the Belfast City announcement is this week.

Looks like the Eastern AT72's IACY and IACZ are making their way from ABZ to SOU as I type.

Is SOU about to become one of the busiest airports in the UK at this rate?

I think this sums things up - the old in the background and the new at the fore.

The "old" in the background is the last Dash left at SOU as far as I know.

There were some pics on FB of it having an engine change last week.

and the new at the fore
.

I think I remember visiting SOU in the early two thousands and seeing several jets just like that Embraer on the apron? What goes around comes around .

That’s brilliant news !!

Slow but good positive progress being made with established routes returning , I just hope there isn’t to much more doubling up of existing routes

Bloody brilliant!

Oldest airline in the world - falling back on what it knows is viable...and it's time served.

Looking forward to seeing the blue and white on Final for 20.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - SOU is viable in so many ways.

That's strong light at the end of the tunnel.

The flight schedule is as follows:

KL0919 departs Amsterdam daily at 4:35pm and arrives in Southampton at 4:45pm.
KL 0920 departs Southampton daily at 5:20pm and arrives in Amsterdam at 7:35pm.

All times are local.

So happy I don’t need to travel all the way to LHR or LGW to get my connecting flights anymore

Hopefully in time this will rise to a decent frequency with a based aircraft at SOU for the early morning wave at AMS

They might be able to make it work but when KL pulled out last year they cited that there was insufficient connecting passengers and the market was more point-to-point.
KL tend to want to depart 0600L from UK to maximise connections, but this won't be possible unless SOU change their operating hours.

Not a bad time of day for Far East connections. My daughter went via AMS a couple of times.

Agreed, better if you're heading East rather than West
