According to ACL Eastern and Blue Islands have been granted slots for SOU-DUB.
The same source also shows Blue Islands having been granted slots for SOU-MAN, in addition to Eastern.
It was rumoured on here a while ago and, while the current situation means that everything is up in the air as far as start dates etc, in the long run it looks as though there was some substance to the rumours of a Blue Islands expansion at SOU.

It looks like Eastern have deferred their SOU-LBA re-start until 6 July. It was on the website as 29 June, but has been changed without the "last updated" flag on the web page also being changed.

Eastern increasing SOU-MAN to 9 weekly from 13/07 (2x Mon-Thurs and 1x Fri). New early morning flight on an ATR72. Afternoon flight still shows as a J41 but this could just be slow to be updated in the booking engine. Guess this also means the airport will be open in the mornings from them - back to normal operating hours or very close to it (Mon-Thurs at least)?

Comment on the Eastern website on the page where they list the route resumptions suggests that they are waiting for a confirmed opening date for hospitality in ROI before releasing a schedule (and presumably also a start date...).

Flybe's operating licence has not been revoked so it's slots have not returned to the pool. If they had, there would be no guarantee that the operator picking these up would operate to SOU.
Eastern just flew over me here at the start of the feathers for RWY 20 for SOU - coming in from NCL - when did that start happening?

So there is little hope of anybody setting up a Sun route base from SOU!
Southampton has to try to survive with internal routes for the foreseeable future,with restricted hours and mainly prop operations.

There is just no justification for the Runway extension now. Easy,Ryanair are contracting and pulling out of bases such as Southend and possibly Bournemouth
So there is little hope of anybody setting up a Sun route base from SOU!
Southampton has to try to survive with internal routes for the foreseeable future,with restricted hours and mainly prop operations.

Slightly rich when you have been moaning for years about lack of airfield investment. Let’s not be in any doubt, air travel will be back and SOU need to be in a position to capitalise, hence the extension will go ahead and be ready for any opportunity that presents itself!

The airfields that had the vision to see the future getting back to normal will be the ones that make it.
SOU - has that philosophy right now.
The overall volume may well be but the mix should be different. 2019 was a better year than the mid 2000s bubble but MME, BLK, MSE, PLH, CVT were all out of the game.

Its also worth remembering that a runway extension actually benefits the current users more than any possible future ones. Due to the hill on the 20 departure many aircraft types, including the ATR / EMB (as stated by LM) are pretty badly restricted, especially in hotter months. Whilst all airlines operating into SOU obviously make it work at the moment, its not to say everyone wouldn't benefit from an extension, plus now is a great time for investment as those working on the runway extension no doubt get paid a salary, pay taxes and of course spend that hard earned money (possibly?) in the local area boosting the Hampshire economy.

This will be the name of the game for the next 12-24 months , airports keeping heads above water during these tough times. Reduced operating hours tells me the purse strings are already being tightened at SOU, less expenditure for airport services, ATC, Fire, Ops etc also presumably with the recent Swissport announcement possible cutbacks there too. The main problem with all the above is reinstating it all if and when the time comes, there isn't usually a quick solution.
