Of course if the extra Jota aircraft are put into service is does not be readily mean that the aircraft will operate from Southend so let us not get ahead of ourselves. It all depends on what contracts they can acquire for the aircraft, after all that is Jota's area of operation, have aircraft will fly to/from - i.e. HOP in France plus the 'problem' getting suitable!e qualified crews (they have been advertising for quite a long time now).

You are quite correct. I never suggested they would operate from SEN. The airline seems to be doing ok with the charters they get, albeit scattered widely.

One source suggested that the current plan is to base two at SEN and the other two elsewhere but I gained the impression that this may be only the provisional plan rather than anything definite.

It's been a long time since any news here, so to keep it alive, nice to see a Lufthansa diversion from Frankfurt earlier this morning.

Good to hear it. Nobody reports much these days.

Calm before the storm? EZY winter schedule out on Thursday. Will that 4th Airbus stay at SEN? If they plan to operate 4 there may be one or two surprises to come.

I nearly forgot.

Tell your friends throughout Europe. 15 minutes walk from the terminal (sober).

That's good to see,is there a specific reason for this uptick or is it just part of a general increase of SEN awareness?

Thanks 'T' that seems to explain some of it.

Luton has been dire for most of the day. Looking out of the window I would say CAT 3 only at the moment and not all bizjets are CAT 3 rated.

Just did a dummy booking for IG Avion from SEN for 26/29 April. Results in "Please be patient‚ flights will be available very soon ". This does not bode well.......

Nothing much at first glance. Looks like the usual winter flights to me. I'm sure those with scheduling experience will be commenting soon. Of course, there's always the possibility several new routes will be announced shortly. Or possibly not...

From a quick glance at November it looks like a 4th aircraft is needed on some days. There seem to be no LYS flights but AGP increases to daily and PRG continues at 4 x weekly. Quite a lot of scope for additional routes which would probably be announced later.

Edit: Tagron pointed out elsewhere that the MJV route also continues through the winter this year at 2 x weekly.

I don't intend this as a vote of confidence or otherwise in IGavion but seats were bookable on those flights when I looked few minutes ago.

Because of the weather disruption during the past 24 hours, Jota operated the Flybe Vienna flight on their behalf today, whilst SEN received three LCY diversions.

Skipness One Echo has posted on the STN thread, advising EZY appear to have dropped GLA next winter. Either Stobart are on a winner, or SEN-GLA could be turning orange.

I think one of FR or EZY will reverse their decision, it wouldn’t take much for FR to put one of their STN-based aircraft to use on the route especially if they are parking some up. I don’t think EZY will add it from SEN. The BE loads have been far from impressive.

On that note, I’ve heard Groningen loads have been very weak. Overall pax numbers only slightly up, but now split three ways.

Had my first experience of flying to/from SEN this week. What a lovely friendly airport you have here. All the staff, security, lounge, shops etc very friendly. Such a pleasant change from the usual chaos, crowding & unpleasantness I experience at many airports. (MAN springs to mind)
