Which aircraft were WFU after the Collapse?

After the dust had settled, which of Monarch's fleet were finally WFU and are no more?

Only A320 G-ZBAP was scrapped, however it seems another 2 A320 have been scrapped and an A321 is due to be after joining and leaving new operators.

The scrapped aircraft only went into service in late 2001 and lived for only 16.8 years. Seems a short life for such a popular aircraft.

Appears the Monarch twitter account has been hacked, picture and bio has changed a few times over the last week, and have been sending messages to followers.

Either that, or the person who ran the account 2 years ago got bored and suddenly remembered the password....

Might be due a major check. Balancing that cost against the value in spares, probably meant the owner cashed in?

As reported in The Times
The administrator of Monarch Airlines has racked up fees of £8.2 million almost three years after the company collapsed.

KPMG has been paid £5.5 million of that total since Monarch failed in October 2017 and has agreed to cap its fees at 80 per cent. The total fees are set to increase as the administration has been extended until April following an application to the high court last month as KPMG continues to deal with corporation tax matters. The figures were up to April this year.

They did - First Star Spier Aviation bought it and parted it out for Spares and scrap. What surprised me too was it was 'relatively' young so maybe it had problems or was due major servicing - and you woildnt buy a car without an MOT would you?
The TC330s at MAN are in the same boat, no one wants them as they are not currently 'airworthy'. They can't even be flown to an aviation scrapyard so will somehow have to be broken up on airport.. At least G-ZBAP had the final dignify of being flown there. (A bit Zen perhaps)

The problem with the TCX 330s is that they are just about the only ones in the world with Lower Deck Lavatories. And the cost of conversion is probably on a par with a second hand A330.
There were rumours they were going to be given, effectively free, to Jet2. But COVID put an end to that!

Airtours International AIH placed the first orders for 4 A330-200 with the downstairs Lavs. (These ended up of course due the My Travel merger, with Thomas Cook, as did Premiair's)
Leisure International ULE had also placed an order for 4 but this was cancelled when Air 2000 AMM bought them out and they stayed with the 767.
2 went to Novair Sweden and 2 to JMC (Thomas Cook) all with lower deck Lavs.

Monarch ordered 2 A330-200 but with no downstairs loos.

Another aircraft that operated for Monarch, G-MRJK was scrapped around the same age (slightly younger) so I wouldn’t say it was unusual though quite young compared to some others.

At least 4 other aircraft that had left Monarch a few years before or after the collapse have also now been / in the process of being scrapped since joining their new operator.

Would 2 of them be G-MARA and G-OJEG, leased to Olympus and carried a hybrid Mon/Oly paint iob? Last I heard G-MARA had been 'stored' for a year.

G-OJEG is still very busy flying around the Middle East with Olympus, as SX-ACP. Don't know about G-MARA

G-ZBAH

From what I gather G-ZBAH got stored for a year then leased to Lynx ES-ZGI but only lasted 3 months before being stored for scrapping.

Funny the fondness we (well me anyway) still has for Monarch. Flew with them countless times ex BHX on holidays and was actually in FUE when they went belly up.

I too miss Monarch. I've said this lots of times but I considered it a privilege when they chose to set up a base at Leeds Bradford.

Wasn't the choice of a base at LBA heavily "incentivised"?

Also, shouldn't this be in the History and Nostalgia section now?

If the Mods would care to move it , its fine by me.
Nice to look back although sad to see some of our 'holiday rides' coming to end of life now.
