Have flown it a fair bit and loads are in the late 60's early 70's which I believe flybe are very happy with hence its on sale for winter despite wider cuts in their network - great to see it been given time to develop

No love lost between Loganair and Flybe then!

I hope Loganair hurry up and get these code-shares with Aer Lingus and BA in place!

This must be a serious blow to Loganair

Perhaps we might see Eastern operate LCY on some routes if they have the capacity?
Means Flybe would be seen to fly the same type as cityflyer on the EDI route could help gain even more market share?

Isn't there some sort of fare discount scheme available to locals on most highland & island routes (its correct name escapes me)? Do routes on which there is competition qualify for that scheme?

"I hope Loganair hurry up and get these code-shares with Aer Lingus and BA in place"

You might be a long time waiting. Flybe already have a codeshare with both and there may be a clause about starting up new codeshares with competitors on routes. Which more than likely was the reason for the delay anyway.

I didn't think Flybe had any remaining codeshares with BA - particularly as they're now head-to-head on Scotland-London. Update on Loganair website implies BA codeshare coming soon.

Make of it what you will.

Flybe Franchises - Codeshares | Flybe UK

The BA ticketing server isn't showing anything yet, and just shows an error if you try and fly from BEB SYY SUM etc to say LAX.

When the flights appear in the flybe system if they then appear in the BA then a codeshare with Logan I think s unlikely.

I suspect there is also issues with who is responsible for missed connections Logan just can't afford to take a hit for 3-4 punters missing long haul connections it would wipe any profits out for a day.

Loganair not messing about by looks of things.

They are set to continue codeshare agreement with British Airways and open a new relationship with bmi Regional for UK and Scandinavia connections.

Is it not Loganair that do all the ground handling at the island airports??

Will they continue to handle them or ramp up the charges to make it unprofitable for flybe/eastern?

The Scottish Government subside island residents by applying ADS (air discount scheme) administered By HIA Ltd. It gives a 50% discount on airport taxes. If you qualify you can access it by going to www.flybe.com/ads or ba.com/ads etc. etc.. it applies to all scheduled services to the Scottish Isles by any airline

I have to take an urn of cremated remains on the airline at the end of this month (UK internal flight) and I have all the paperwork and container that can be x-rayed. Do I need to inform the airline in advance?

Paxboy - probably best to do so, if only so that someone can add notes to the system on your booking to say that everything is already approved and hopefully prevent somebody inexperienced from making too much of a fuss when you get to the airport. Yes I know this is not what you need, but jobsworths are plentiful around anything where 'security reasons' can be claimed

Just been on the Flybe website and had a look at flights from ABZ - LSI in October and one of the Monday morning flights is showing a aircraft with twin seats both sides about 20 rows ? Could they be using an Embraer ? return flight back to ABZ shows a J41 seating plan
