So, not as wavy as one would expect.
It all depends though on so many variables such as aircraft turnarounds, route/sector length, time zones, asset utilization and the airlines business model to some degree - It's swings and roundabouts. I wouldn't say the ratio of based vs non-based aircraft necessarily equates to peaks and troughs in the way you might expect.

Absolutely. T3 is the all-day long, all year long terminal at MAN. It does get a good night's sleep however, lacking the wee small hours arrivals which go on through the night at T1 and T2 in summer at least.

We passed through T3 last week, I was quite suprised how fast we got through security at 5ami it took about 5 mins. The worst part for me is the check in area. The atoumated bag drop Ryanair are using now is an absoulte nightmare and leads to long queues. coming back immigration and bag collection was better than T1

Agreed. The gap between the two lines of scales/boarding card readers is too narrow to get through easily with a suitcase when there are families stood around at the first few machines. Had to persuade people in the queue in front of us to move to the far end to keep things moving.
No staff in evidence to keep the queue moving at 0415 last Wednesday. By 0445 the queue was just short of the escalator at the security end.
Not helped by the number of people who made their way alongside the queue (not realising the should have joined the end) and then meeting others coming the other way who'd done the same thing and turned round!
It's never going to be great with those sorts of numbers at one time - but could be improved with a bit of thought

One Roverman and one or two others might find interesting.
I hadn't realised until recently that IAH publish figures that can be used to assess the overall loads on SQ51/52.
There is a slight discrepancy between the IAH numbers and the UK's CAA numbers which is likely to be because one rotation took off from IAH in May and landed at MAN in June (or vice versa). These are highlighted below.
June 2017
21 rotations, 42 sectors.
IAH-SIN: 3,035 - 72 ave per sector.
MAN-SIN: 6,632 - 158 ave per sector
MAN IAH: 6,199 - 148 ave per sector
Note: IAH figures have IAH-MAN as 141 ave per sector.
This means the following:
SIN-MAN: 230 av per sector, 91% LF
MAN-IAH: 220 av per sector, 87% LG
If you take IAH figures, MAN-IAH is 213 per sector, 84% LF
For comparison, SQ's network average is 80% and the passenger break even load factor is 82.2%.
Compared to when the route was via DME, the MAN-IAH sectors on cargo and passenger show around a 100% improvement (i.e. They have doubled).
All in all, SQ can probably be rather pleased with the decision as this route looks to be trending in the right direction overall.

It certainly is.
When you think MAN had no non-stop service to the Far East a few short years ago, to get close to 21 weekly (and with the possibility of more to come) is phenomenal.
Makes you wonder what other parts of the world are ripe to be opened up from here.

So in terms of variety, not ideal but better in terms of volume I think.
Thai Airlines? where do you go with them, they have promised a direct service for about 20 years now, even went to a launch dinner where they announced that the service would start next spring(1997 if I remember right) so I guess I will believe that when the tyres grace the runway.
With regard to ME3 or ME4 if you include Oman Air are holding level now and probably
have reached their peak or nearly

I'd then hazard a guess that Mumbai, Delhi, possibly Niarobi and even Seoul are likely missing thanks to the MEB3 taking a large slice of the action.
The latter 2 have large pax flows indirect across the board but the MEB3 likely taking the largest chunk. Also a fair amount of cargo between the points too.

The issue with MIA is that it's low yielding as a stand alone destination. Had the flights been able to tie in with cruises and such, then the flight may have stood a better chance. Miami isn't exactly the top of people's city break destination, and TCX has no feed to tap into either. There are better beaches elsewhere in Florida, such as Tampa hence the rumours.
I'd dare say Fort Lauderdale could have even stood a better chance than Miami. It has more cruises should TCX tap into it, still has access to Miami, easier to get to he Everglades and is a large JetBlue hub to which TCX could feed.

Forgive me for not understanding but surly the CAA stats for both legs include those routing SIN-IAH and MAN-IAH and vice versa.
Can you tell from IAH figures published that the 3000 marked as IAH-SIN dosnt include MAN traffic?
The route makes no sense for SQ if they are bad as this unless there is some business contract at play.
Not looked at the websites where the figures are located but way I read is, its more less 50/50 IAH to SIN and MAN if you look at the 3,000 figure and the 6,000 for MAN-IAH figure.
