GOT will hopefully be added in the next few weeks, expected to be Sept 1st now. Nature of Sun Air means they have little/no lead in time of majority of new routes anyway.

Nice to see BLL increased again, used to be 3 daily on some days as it was.

I am personally sick to death of the drunken, loutish and anti-social behaviour I see in T3 and on my regular early morning flights.

Just had the following email from Ryanair for my flight on Sunday;

In order to prioritize the comfort and safety of all passengers, Ryanair will implement the following restrictions on your upcoming flight to Spain:

• Customers will not be allowed to carry alcohol on board and all cabin baggage will be searched at the boarding gates.

• Any alcohol purchased in airport shops or elsewhere must be packed carefully in a suitable item of cabin baggage, which will be tagged at the gate and then placed in the aircraft hold free of charge.

• If the bag is unsuitable for placing in the hold (e.g. plastic bag) then customers will be required to dispose of the alcohol in the bins provided.

• Boarding gates will be carefully monitored and customers showing any signs of anti-social behaviour or attempting to conceal alcohol will be denied travel without refund or compensation.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation with these procedures which we hope will allow you to enjoy your flight with us.

Yours sincerely,

Ryanair Customer Services

I'm glad to see that they're addressing this serious issue but I feel that Manchester and other Airports need to take responsibility to cull this behaviour and should not serve alcohol especially at such early hours of the morning.
This would help a great deal but wouldn't stop those who will buy booze from the outlet shops then drink before boarding; the solution would be to pass duty sales directly to the airline. I'm not an expert on aviation law and something may already be in place but I would like to see legislation put in to prosecute any form of anti-social behaviour or drunkenness within an Airport or on-board Aircraft that would make commuting by air a pleasure again

In reply to Gazza 007 the Civil Aviation Act (CAA) 1982, as amended by the Civil Aviation (Amendment) Act 1996, Article 75 prohibits any person entering any aircraft when drunk, or being drunk in any aircraft. So far airports themselves are concerned assuming that they are public places I assume that the normalaw.hlish laws of drunkenness would apply in addition to the Public Order Act
Maybe the real problem rests with the lack of police resources to enforce the law.

Thanks for this Daynehold. I agree more policing and visible security within the airport, perhaps some big signs too!!! I'll report back next week after my next flight

Yes it arrives as MH8158 from Kuala Lumpur and will then depart as MH8159 on 16th to Hong Kong.

The latter flight plan is already showing on FR24.

Buried in the ANO somewhere, it's unlawful to enter an aircraft intoxicated

People want cheap fares, airlines provide them by cutting payments to airports, airports have to make the money back somehow, so encourage bar and duty free sales.

People don't like drunk pax, airlines introduce steps which will reduce bar and duty free sales so what do the airports do now?

DNATA at MAN has been more recent. I'd say 2013 or 2014 when they opened MAN.

Dnata began full handling in Nov 2014, but had run cargo ops for a while longer before that.

Thanks Easy and Lax, I know they have had a cargo presence for a while because as you drive round cargo centre you see their building.

Thomas Cook Airlines UK - Seattle Calling - Thomas Cook Airlines announce new Manchester to Seattle Route for Summer 2018

Cool! (literally). Does this mean that what ever Condor do, Thomas Cook follow? Onwards and upwards!

I'd also noticed the Condor connection with the destination. I guess if it works for Condor, it should work for TCX. Condor flights not currently served by TCX from MAN may well be a (very) good guide for future TCX destinations.

I know a few people on here would really like to see the Condor destination of Cape Town appear on MAN's departure boards..........
