The Hainan web site for some dates bookable in October is only showing the current 4 flights a week. Tues/Thurs flights via Brussels and Sunday via Paris I think.
Quotes in the M.E.N. article specifically referred to daily flights for 'the summer'. Of course, it's possible they may be planning to announce a second dose of good news if the extra frequencies are extended.

Passed through T2 this morning at 0530- security wait was 30 minutes - its that normal this time of year?
Also with the prospect of more bussing due to the TP- I would of thought the bussing procedure would have been geared up to a slick operation.
From boarding at gate 300 to push back today was a couple of minutes shy of one hour-for an A321 flight. Departed 40 minutes late due to bussing issues.

Any word on the loading figures for the new Oman Air service?
Nice to see Cargolux over the weekend with another planned for the 3rd. Surprising that ops relinquished precious stand space though.
All bets are off for the Kuwait switch from SNN.

I was told a few weeks ago that they were very pleased with advance sales
Carolux bought an engin in for the dead American B767 and will collect the old on
Kuwait forget for now

Thanks for the info. Will be interesting to see if Oman Air takes pax from their LHR services or Manchester's EK.
Shame the Cargolux was a 'must be Manchester' job rather than cargo to the region.
Kuwait. LOL. Third highest GDP in Middle East and their airline offering is 'non-league' compared to the MEB3!

I think one of the reasons is that there is no alcohol on Kuwait airways (or there was not last time I flew with them), and they are not really a player in the movement of people from Europe / US to Far East as this lack of alcohol appears to have a disproportionate effect on the number of people who wish to fly with them. Brunei also have a similar policy and apparently also suffer lighter loads, partly as a result I am informed by a colleague, who uses them a bit. As regards Oman Air I will be trying them down to Muscat soon, as we have been involved in the new terminal. We used to go through DXB so it will be good to go direct as connections were not always the easiest or convenient.
Regards

Regards Brunei and Kuwait my understanding is you can consume your own alcohol on board (in moderation). However that will never be enough to entice loads of Westerners to fly with them.

Appreciate the alcohol comments, and was part of my reasoning for using LH to KWI, but
and they're going from strength to strength from MAN.

Mondays flt was cancelled some months ago, as are a few more in MAY. Tuesday aircraft went AOG in HKG, awaiting spare aircraft to arrive, as 357 is one of the last flts to leave for Europe a spare aircraft is not always available.
Thanks I had forgotten about those May seasonal reductions, and I guess an AOG is just one of those unfortunate things that happen occasionally

Saudia offer competitive fairs, and having a drink on board apart from the westerners (and those of the faith who view there religion slightly differently) who are heading in or out of the kingdom, I do not think having a drink is a big deal for most of there clients I would suggest. Also if on contract in the Kingdom you often have to use Saudia when returning on leave. When I was there we often tried to "miss" Saudia flight as we then got put on BCAL as the alternative way home. Always remember a tartan clad CC asking me what I would like to drink on my first trip home, and when my G&T arrived found it to be huge. She then politely told me they always served doubles or more when leaving the Kingdom !
