Please remember that 2016 was a leap-year and therefore a small reduction in passengers may be expected due to the loss of 1 day in comparative figures.

Destinations that are either new (no passengers since my records started in January 2005), or have not been served for a number of years - if the latter then the month and year of the last service is shown.

St Etienne - 2,402 passengers. This was a 'one-off' for football supports.

In the absence of much data for this section I have provided a review of the performance for the domestic destinations served from Manchester, comparing February 2017 with the same month in 2016:

The fall in traffic to Edinburgh and Glasgow will be because in Feb 16 the railway line was closed for two months due to flood damage.

But surely if the railway line was closed then you would expect a possible increase in travellers switching to flights?

They've fallen this year because the line has reopened. You would have to look at Feb 15 for a fair comparison.

Thanks for the research. Perhaps some effect from GLA, but EDI seems in major decline. We've discussed on the Flybe thread the long-term viability of these routes, with the train service being much more frequent. Just 100 PAX per day from GLA, and 200 from EDI?

Edinburgh is nearer to 248 per day as we're talking February and so only 28 days to divide by.

That's about 60 per flight, unless the total quoted is the sum of the incoming and outgoing PAX, in which case it's only 30.

From experience I would have to agree with you, having used SQ service since inception 4 times now, and flight is picking up more passengers from Man each time I have been on it. Also to be honest SQ V Virgin is not much of a contest in my preference stakes, and when you add in the "joys" of Atlanta as your US entry port why would you bother, unless you need to be in that area.

As I understand it, the CAA figures that Scottie Dog uses, are based on per flight in each direction and therefore your lower figures looks to be correct.

If you take the Dubai figure of 81,000 then 3 return flights in 28 days equates to 482 passengers per flight each way - this supports your lower figures.

Many of the flights are on a Saab 340 which have a seating capacity of 33 or Saab 2000 which carry 50 so sounds quite good to me

From 1st July (01/07/17) and should be bookable shortly.

Just got back from Kiev and nobody at KBP knows anything about a new UIA service to MAN, they only know about the Ryanair service that starts in October.
Can you say where you got this information from please. I fly regularly to Ukraine and a service from Manchester for the summer would be great, better than going from LHR, LGW or LTN.

MANCHESTER AIRPORT TRANSFORMATION PROGRAMME - MAJOR CONSTRUCTION WORKS COMMENCING 2017

1 Introduction

1.1 Major work will take place between Spring 2017 and early 2024 to construct an extension to Terminal Two, with a large multistorey
car park, piers, associated aprons and taxilanes. There will be major works ongoing in landside areas, with tower and
mobile cranes operating. There will also be multiple phases of airside works, involving stand and taxiway closures, taxiway
diversions, reconfigurations and re-designations. From Summer 2018 onwards additional aprons and taxi lanes will be
introduced.
1.2 AIP Supplements will advise of works and operational impact phase by phase, and aerodrome charts and textual data
progressively updated.

2 Programme – Phase 1 Landside Works

2.1 18 April to 31 October 2017; Hours of operation, H24.

3 Operational Implications (Phase 1 Landside Works)

3.1 Site boundary fence erected at the northwest end of Taxiways Delta and November;
3.2 Stands 74, 86L, 219, and 249 withdrawn from use;
3.3 Stand 245 reinstated.

Very good to hear Hainan and CX both going daily this year. The 787 and A359 are proving to be very good aircraft for route development at MAN, at least on routes heading east.

LOT to Warsaw (maybe operated by E190)

Aeroflot to Moscow (considering they picked up flights from Gatwick to Moscow from easyJet, surprised they haven't done the same at MAN)
