United Airways of Bangladesh are looking to get airborne again, with CH-Aviation reporting their MD as saying that they are in the process of acquiring ATR72s for regional ops, and 2 A340-300s for long haul flights to Manchester and Gatwick. Breath holding is probably inadvisable.....

2 A340's. I remember when Air Blue tried the same thing and look how well that went. Good luck to them if it happens and it will be nice to have Bangladesh back on the boards, but this is a recipe for disaster

Flybe making Newquay 2 daily from end of March.
good news, and about time too
does anyone know which aircraft type BE will be using for the extra flight ? assume the E95 will still operate the regularly scheduled flight ex NQY
cs
Earlier this month there was talk on the FlyBe thread about a fourth hub "wave" at MAN for Summer 17, between around 1130-1230 each day. If correct MAN could expect increased frequencies from FlyBe on a number of routes apart from NQY.

Air Malta just announced it's withdrawing the route. Better profits elsewhere!
Air Malta to drop Manchester route
Better profits..? They're a basket case these days.
In summer 2017, MAN-MLA will be flown by Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and Thomas Cook. One has to think carefully whether the route could potentially allow a fifth carrier like Air Malta to operate profitably on a route which is very leisure focussed.
That said, I believe Air Malta were hoping for some kind of investment or significant alliance that would come from Alitalia. As Alitalia's benefactor, the airline-which-must-not-be-named is having a serious rethink about their long standing strategy of investing in European airlines, Air Malta probably have some serious work to do pretty soon on Air Malta's future size and shape.

Do we know yet what Thomas Cook's fleet plans are for MAN next summer. Current schedules have been updated to include a lot more Turkish flights and some new W pattern flights with an extra based Avion Express. Looks to be 3 A320, 2 A321, 2/3 753 for short haul? And no Condor flights
Does anyone have any further info?
