Can I assume that today's EY21/22 is on a B77W?

Saudia five times a week from September (probably well reported in this thread).

Considering they started with three per week back in March 2014, is this an example of good route development with regards to timescales?

How long before CX and HU also uplift their offering?

HU - supposed to go daily from 1 January 2017.

CX - who knows. They have had problems with crew, aircraft and may well have other priorities. SQ's change may well push MAN up the priorities list?

This Anna Aero analysis could have done with a few caveats insofar as a lot has happened since that analysis was pulled together from......last year !

It is an astonishing frequency. Presumably much of that feeds into BAs network?

39 flights a week is 5-6 per day, much less than other core UK domestics like GLA/EDI.
It's not a "problem" it's an option on a UK based carrier supporting thousands of British jobs, it's not Northern enough for some and they don't fly wide bodies. It's not "astonishing" Dobbo Dobbo (huh?) it's a fraction of what it once was even if you restrict it to LHR only. London p2p collapsed once the WCML was finally fixed and of course LGW was dropped. Interestingly, for a supposed gold mine, no one else picked up MAN-LGW.

The Shuttle nowadays is more a connection to long haul, it's much the same as KLM or Lufthansa yet these carriers are much more acceptable than one based in the Home Counties. Only in Britain would anyone be thinking like this...... All hail the ME3?

Skip think you may have the wrong end of the stick - The 39 figure refers to the Cathay operations into LHR and soon LGW !

Indeed, I read spanners post as referring to the obese 7 x 5 daily Cathay's ex-LHR plus the soon to be 4 x weekly ex-LGW, =39 per week, compared to MAN's somewhat thrifty 4 x weekly. LGW was, I think, a slot grab ("get 'em while you can, they won't be around at this price much longer!") and took precedence over building MAN to daily. That's understandable, if a little disappointing for us up North. I guess it will come at some stage, but what one carrier does not take up at MAN, another will. That's the way it is going now at MAN-Hub. We don't have to say "Please Sir, I want some more", any more!

I did wonder what Skip was referring too! My reference was to the OW connections from CX to BA at LHR!

I'm sure we will see CX build up at MAN. The competition between CX, SQ, the MEB3 and the Chinese airlines going east continues to build.

VS seem to be working to tie up as much of the US market as possible. I wonder if more transit flights could come into the equation?

Yes it was referring to CX 35 to LHR and soon to be 4 a week to LGW
