The EMB175 has operated it tonight but I suppose that is due to aircraft availability at short notice.

I believe the route was changing to the DH8D in September (booking engine has shown this for a while) and they are to operate the same aircraft on the BHX - RTM which certainly seems ambitious.

Steady on it took them years to think of Manchester - Lyon despite operating with decent loads on BHX -LYS for a few years (yields not known) but I agree Toulouse by flybe to the outsider seems an obvious choice. However yields at BHX must have been a major issue as it failed twice before despite excellent winter and summer loads but hopefully third time lucky and hopefully they give MAN-TLS a go.

Also noticed that Vueling's Alicante flight was delayed 6 hours last night. Does anyone know loads or forward bookings for any of Vueling's flights from Manchester (Alicante, Barcelona, Rome & Tenerife).

I was thinking about future easyJet routes that they could launch, as we have seen them fill in obvious gaps, namely Paris & Milan, recently. Here are a couple of my ideas:

- Rome, Italy
- Toulouse, France
- Faro, Portugal
- Lanzarote, Spain
- Dubrovnik, Croatia

Any other viable routes? easyJet's growth has been rather slow until recently at Manchester and have let Ryanair grow at a significant rate and have a bigger presence at Manchester.

Ryanair may seem bigger that Easyjet at MAN, and that's because Ryanair use far more 'away based aircraft' than Easyjet, but, Easyjet have more based aircraft than Ryanair (easy has 11 vs Ryanair's 8 (9 in peak summer).

In terms of potential routes from Easyjet:

Rome. Maybe, but not a priority as we have Ryanair, Jet2 and Vueling on the route.
Toulouse: only against a 2 weekly Jet2, so possible
Faro: big missing route in my opinion for Easyjet. Portugal holidays on the up, so, scope.
Lanzarote: maybe in time. Again, surprising Easyjet on,y have one canaries route from MAN (which is TFS)
Dubrovnik: less likely now they are serving Tivat, and of course already serve split.

The ones to watch for big expansion are Norwegian.

Likely to have 8 routes this winter (the current 6 plus Tenerife and Gran Canaria)

Palma is to be added from next May:

D85891 PMI 0940 MAN 1130
D85892 MAN 1215 PMI 1550

The/Thu/Fri/Sun

Should be bookable later in the year.

And of course, the growing rumour of a base.

Vuelings punctuality on the ALC route has been nothing short of disgraceful. The first flight departed close to midnight, the second flight went about 17hrs later the next day and the 3rd flight went close to midnight too.

Yes, but there have been French ATC strikes. Vueling operated their MAN flights. Not every carrier did.

Came through T1 a few days ago (first time for a couple of years). Certainly showing its age, but functional if some pressure is taken off it.

Part of me wants to cry because of the inability of the wheels of government to knock some heads together and get this done for a sensible price

Well we do at least agree on that point !

Bad experience T1 last night getting through immigration at 00.30 with long wait of about 40min, not that impressed. Our flight (Jet 2 ex Palma) was running slightly late by 10min but had been re time tabled and pushed back an hour after I had booked it, as originally a 23.00 arrival. Not a great way to end a long day having gone down for weekend to watch some sailing and being up since 5.00am on the water!

Regards
Mr Mac

Went through T 2 last week... although midweek afternoon you would have thought it was school holidays...so parent fines not working.. security..OK I won't go there... wouldn't be impressed if I was a premium pax and found every kid and their buggy were being sent down fast track channel..anyway to the good bits..

The terminal was very busy, but coped well with the numbers.. spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful staff wherever we went and the gate staff, although Swiss port, working on behalf of Monarch simply did their best for everyone..quite a few wheelchair pax on our flight, and all were treated exemplary..Whilst it's not perfect it seem to be trying hard..well done T2

If MOR expects a "limited impact" to UK business why on earth the knee jerk reaction of suggesting no UK growth in 2017...

This will not make one iota of impact on RYR clientele!

Agreed!, MOR is all smoke and mirrors. It is probably a ploy to get cheaper charges from airports. People will still travel although I think travel to the Baltic states and Central Europe may be affected.
