Thinking back to the queue at passport control, their is usually
a airport employee,I think, but could be border control directing you to the scanners,
while the snake line remains empty.

With regards to TCX, to me it seems like this could pave the way to be a Eurowings long haul base, especially as the latter has aspirations of pan-European bases.

Virgin look to be operating a quite healthy schedule next summer.

Outside of the usual summer peak, we have the new San Fransisco and Boston flights. Barbados goes to the A330 but gains an extra Friday flight (basically the winter increase stays year round), Orlando gains a new Monday flight so 12 weekly up from 11 and Las Vegas starts on 2nd March rather than 25th.

Inside the summer peak, the Vegas flight goes its usual 3 weekly A330, and Orlando gets boosted to go a full 2 daily schedule.

This coupled with the year round B767 on the JFK flight means VS/DL have given MAN a pretty good increase in seats.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

In other news, Ryanair have added a 3 weekly Wroclaw from 31st October. Confirmed and bookable.

This is what happens when two airlines in partnership work closely together, it can allow the customer a real increase in options at good prices with both having their own metal at MAN.
I mean, just imagine if British Airways and American Airlines could do something similar? Oh wait that would never work, it's quite literally unimaginable (!) Clearly I am still drunk.

easyJet

Don't know if this has been announced already, but a new 2 weekly route to Gibraltar starts in July, operating every Wednesday and Sunday.

Boeing, China Eastern Airlines Finalize Order for 15 787-9 Dreamliners - Apr 28, 2016

"The addition of these next-generation, fuel-efficient airplanes will play a key role in supporting China Eastern's strategy for international expansion, and enable us to realize profits in point-to-point routes across the Pacific Ocean, and between China and Europe."
PVG-MAN perhaps....

This from LAX a few days ago may have been missed (being at the bottom of a post on another matter).
Just refreshing this information as I believe this is a genuinely new destination for Manchester ie never been served before.

787 is only as cramped as the airline desires.

You will have to wait until W17 for the A350 on the SQ. More likely to see QR operate the type first into MAN.

Los Angeles starts tomorrow, fantastic to see this back on a regular scheduled basis.

This is just the next step in what has been a great 2016 for Long haul at Manchester.

It started with more seats from Emirates, bigger aircraft for Delta on JFK, PIA increasing Islamabad, Shaheen starting Islamabad and Saudia introducing the brand new B787-9.

Next after Los Angeles are new routes to Aruba, Boston, Beijing, Phuket, Goa, Mauritius, Shanghai, Dubai DWC, and Tobago. This coupled with extra flights to Doha, Orlando, Las Vegas, Barbados, Jeddah and newer aircraft to Chicago.

With 3 new routes already announced, increases on several more and rumours of plenty more to come including Xi'an, 2017 looks to be just as strong thus far, as it's only May 1st!

Good to see the new LA flights up and running but notably also the connectivity with a dozen FlyBe regional destinations!

Haven't heard a squeak out of Air Blue...is that still on?? It might even be best for MAN if they dropped their plans as I think three carriers on ISB might be overkill.

I had wondered what was meant by the B787 comments!

It would be great to see a daily, non-stop SQ service soon, they have been squeezed at MAN but the MUC tag has probably saved the route. They are certainly of capable of responding if they choose to do so, they remain a giant in the airline world.

Offering the most modern generation aircraft and some good local connections here (I.e. Flybe) would be a good step in the right direction. I hope there is more to come.

From Travel News weekly, re the new TCX flights to LAX

http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articl...ce-makes-debut.

Reported on another site that the first outbound had 294 pax and the inbound 111.
Although the capacity is shown as 322 on seat guru, that inbound load struck me as quite reasonable given the majority of pax will be UK originating.

In Flybe's Air India codeshare announcement:

Flybe signed a codeshare agreement with Virgin Atlantic in March, giving travellers the opportunity to fly from 18 UK and European airports served by Flybe, connecting onto a Virgin Atlantic flight at Manchester, Glasgow and London Gatwick.

The demand for forward bookings has exceeded early expectations, with the most popular routes being for connections to Orlando via Manchester using Flybe services from Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Belfast City, Edinburgh and Paris Charles de Gaulle as well as to Las Vegas from Belfast City and Paris, and from Edinburgh through to Atlanta.

Hmmmm.....seems odd to set up an agreement where there is no long haul link to the very airport which has the largest lift?

The Indian economy is growing at a phenomenal rate Manchester needs to be connected to that market!

Guess FlyBe can only connect to what's on offer. Need someone to step in and start Mumbai. Air India gone cold on the idea?

Maybe airlines are "positioning " themselves to take advantage of the FlyBe proposition re Manchester?
