Without swaying to off topic,The Trafford Centre and indeed many shops in Manchester are well ahead of the game in terms of being "Chinese Friendly" in terms of guides, payment facilities etc.
It was just an observation as to whether the same experience was available to flights at the source of entry Eg MAN and CX?
AND Yes they were training up customer service hosts I wondered if these were visible given the volumes coming in !

Egyptair
Egyptair not bookable after 24 October. Is this a summer only route now ? Or are we back to the previous issue of flights not going on sale until they have Govt approval ?

It's the bilateral issue again. Flights will go back on sale in Sept
I wonder why they can't get this issue sorted, surely it can't be good for bookings to have to keep taking flights off sale?!

Vueling
Questions for those in the know: as an existing operator out of T3 Vueling operate 'middle of the day services' out of peak so as to avoid the T3 peak congestion. This seems to work.
If they are moving to 2 based aircraft as (I think LAX) reported here, doesn't this inevitably mean they'll be joining the T3 rugby scrum in the early morning? Where will they fit the 2 extra based A320s and their passengers in a terminal that is already full (or over-full) at peak?
Will T3 become even more unpleasant for the poor punter than it already is?

The base has been deffered to 2017 now.
Reason being that vueling have had some really bad OTP issues this summer, and therefore will not open any new bases in 2016 to try and recover some reputation, by bolstering the current bases. This is not a slight on MAN, it's a network wide issue, and that's where the priority lies at the moment.
In terms of MAN, they have said new routes from current bases will still happen, notably Palma, Ibiza, Florence, Seville and Alicante, and currently Barcelona in August 2016 will see a daily schedule with July being 6 weekly (already bookable on their website).
Rome FCO was also to be a new route, but, Rome has its own issue to deal with at the moment. All new routes will be 2-3 weekly at most. Barcelona may still get its 10 weekly flights, as further adjustments are due.
The new routes should be available to book from about January, with an April/may start.

To be fair if you want to operate out of CDG, you are unlikely going to get many opportunities to get such slots for a base so they wouldn't be in a position to turn them down but could realistically come to MAN or most other European airports whenever they want.

MAN has a new long term resident as the Transaero/Kabo B747-400 has been impounded and grounded by CAA. The previous times this has happened at MAN, the aircraft have been here a while.

I wonder if we'll see easyJet or Ryanair making a move before Vueling announces Manchester expansion.

I have no idea but not seeing beyond Heathrow in every way shape or form "may" be a part of the problem ?

Egypt has bled traffic massively as the "revolution" and "counter revolution" slug it out and ISIS continue to fight in the region. Or maybe it's a London conspiracy. Or not.
HACAN are the last people to be neutral, having met them, they are NIMBYs to the max. I imagine MAN has an equivalent Tom Good.

BUT If you honestly think that the appointment of a Heathrow spin doctor to the civil service isn't going to influence minister's then you are more naive than I ever imagined.
I doubt of course that it is a "Heathrow conspiracy " but if the problem does lie in Whitehall red tape I suspect it is not an issue that would blight the aforementioned Heathrow.
